The Tree

A tree is a lovely thing to enjoy and to benefit a people. I see a tree also as a symbol of a nation's highest leader. A good tree is a blessing to a nation and a bad tree brings
trouble to the people.

Ecc 9:16  Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
Ecc 9:17  The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools.

A people may flourish under the branches of a good tree.
A green tree is prosperous and a protection. It is
a native tree giving life to those around it. A nation planted
by God and who fear God, is a blessed nation.

Psa 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psa 1:2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Another tall skinny tree is at the end of the street. I often do not notice it for it is out of place where it is planted and I do not know who planted it. Some say it belongs
but it definitely is not a native tree.

Ecc 9:18  Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good.

Jdg 9:8  The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them...

Something strange began to happen, the other trees began
to bow to this foreign tree.

Jdg 2:12  And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger.

A sinister spirit was in the land and trees began
to lose their bark.

Rom 1:21  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23  And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24  Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Once mighty oaks, like cities, began to die.

John 15:4  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Healthy trees that once thrived, were falling.

John 15:6  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Is this the path we wish to go? Sometimes I see things
that trouble me. The Bible explains  what is wrong
and seeing illustrations from nature help us to see.
By seeing we can do something with God's help.

Ecc 12:12  And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ecc 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
