Redeemed

Psa 31:5  Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

In the new testament, Jesus Christ is our redeemer. We were bought from the devil with the price of his shed blood. Through him we receive the Holy Spirit. Our Spirit was dead in sins. He has made us alive in his eternal Holy Spirit.

Gal 3:13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Gal 3:14  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

He gave up his Spirit to his father in heaven when he died on the cross for our sins.

Luk 23:46  And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

On the third day he arose from the tomb by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rom 8:10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Rom 8:11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Rom 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Rom 8:15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Rom 8:16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Rom 8:17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

1Pe 1:18  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

1Pe 1:19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1Pe 1:20  Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Merciful Helper

Psa 30:10  Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!”

Psa 30:11  You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,

Psa 30:12  that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

The LORD Jehovah, the existing one, be merciful to me! O LORD Jehovah be my helper. When Jesus returned to his Father in heaven he sent the Holy Spirit. He was called te Comforter, the helper and the teacher.

John 14:26  But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

The King James Bible uses the word comforter, for helper.

Turned mourning into dancing; loosed my mournful sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.

Isaiah spoke of this.

Isa 61:3  To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

"that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!"

LORD my God, uses the plural name for God: Elohim .  God in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost; they are one God.

I give thanks forever for he is good and worthy of all praise.

I Will Praise Him

The Holy One

Luke 4:32  and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word possessed authority.

Luke 4:33  And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

Luke 4:34  “Ha! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.”

Luke 4:35  But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.

Luke 4:36  And they were all amazed and said to one another, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

The word of God is powerful, especially when spoken with the authority of Jesus.  The spirits know who he is; "the Holy One of God." To the child of God there is still authority in the name of Jesus.  When feeling oppressed or in the presence of an unclean spirit, speak out loud "Jesus". and the spirit will flee.It is important that you first have come to Jesus believing that he has taken away your sins.

There is a story in the Bible about the seven sons of Sceva.

Act 19:13  Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.”

Act 19:14  Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this.

Act 19:15  But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?”

Act 19:16  And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Wow! There are no second hand believers. We must be in Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit to speak with the authority of Jesus.

Luke 11:13  If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

NEW LIFE

The old computer died, thankfully I have a back up.
Why is it that when I use a password that is on file, that it doesn't work? With a new password there is new life for this blog. I suppose a Biblical analogy would be that Jesus is our password to new life. In  Jesus, the old self is dead and we are given a new spirit filled person. Truth is that the old self hangs around, but Jesus is the power to reset or renew our minds.

Rom 12:1  I therefore urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercies, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God, for this is the reasonable way for you to worship.

Rom 12:2  Do not be conformed to this world, but continually be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God's will is—what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.

Read the words of life in your Bible and put them to heart.

Wonderful Words Of Life

Yea and Nay

What comes out of the mouth expresses what is in the heart. There are so many slang words that have evil origins. Holy _ _ _ _ , that s _ _ _ _ _,  words spoken casually without thinking to express a fleeting emotion. New expressions reverse the words meaning,  "that's sick", meaning awesome; "wicked", meaning good.

Mat 5:34  But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

Mat 5:35  Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

Mat 5:36  Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

Mat 5:37  But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Jas_5:12  But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

2Co 1:18  But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.

2Co 1:19  For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

2Co 1:20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

2Co 1:21  Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

Let us speak the truth with clarity; yea and amen.

The Second Temptation Revelation

Mat 4:5  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

Mat 4:6  And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Mat 4:7  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Jesus spoke the word of God to the devil showing that He Is God.  "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God". This is the first time that Jesus spoke that he is God. The devil and demons knew this.

Through the Holy Spirit, John the Baptist knew the holy one from heaven was coming to be the sacrifice for our sins.

John 1:26  John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

John 1:27  He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

John 1:28  These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Joh 1:29  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

He first identified himself as the Messiah to an outcast woman at the well in Samaria. His disciples were seeking food in the city.

John 4:25  The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

John 4:26  Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

The woman then went into the city to share the good news, to report that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God.

God spoke to Simon Peter and he knew that Jesus was the Messiah, the anointed one from God the Father.

Mat 16:15  He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Mat 16:16  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Mat 16:17  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

God is still speaking to our hearts to believe in Jesus who takes away our sins. We must believe in who he is; the Son of God and the Lamb of God, our sacrifice for sins.

Do you believe the good report? Isaiah asked this question in a prophecy.

Isa 53:1  Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

The Hebrew prophecies spoke of a Messiah, one who would rule on the eternal throne of King David.  They expected him to come and to establish his kingom. They did not understand the prophesies of Messiah first coming to be a sacrifice for their sins. Jesus came, died and is risen from the grave. He is coming again as the King of kings. Those who believe in him will live forever.

Life Eternal

John 17:3  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

The prayer of Jesus to God, the Father.  "This is life eternal" Some are fed up with life with all of it's heartaches and confusion. Truth is they need a spiritual life, a life in God through faith in Jesus Christ. With the eyes of God we are able to see the good in his creation and to bring others to Jesus for a new life. The Bible says that not only do we travail in this life, but the creation also is looking for a better life created by God.

Rom 8:22  For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.

Rom 8:23  And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

There will be a new restored earth and heaven, with new spiritual bodies and eternal life in the presence of God the Father and Jesus His Son, We eagerly hope for that new life he has promised us.

"that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ,"

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Holy, Holy, Holy
