Wise

Pro 11:11  Blessings from the honest people living in a city will make it great, but the things evil people say can destroy it.
Pro 11:12  Stupid people say bad things about their neighbors. Wise people know to be quiet.
Pro 11:13  People who tell secrets about others cannot be trusted. Those who can be trusted keep quiet.
Pro 11:14  A nation without wise leaders will fall. Many good advisors make a nation safe. (ERV)

God blesses his faithful people and those around them are blessed, but evil people speak hateful lies. When Japan had their tsunami, the people worked together helping one another. In our nation of complainers and scorners, if we had a national disaster there would be looting from the complainers and there are many of them who would take from others. The blessed would continue to bless by helping the needy. You are known by your fruit.

Having good advisers is a help to a wise leader yet even the wise may be fooled by a false friend; someone who tells secrets or undermines your work. This is what our president Trump must contend with. He needs good advisers, but he wants to be able to trust them. There are a lot of evil people seeking to destroy what is good. We are to be a blessing, friendly, but also wise for the enemy seeks to destroy good works. Pray for our president and our nation.

Testing a godly man

Job 1:1  There was a man named Job who lived in the country of Uz. He was a good, honest man. He respected God and refused to do evil.

In the midst of great suffering Job said:

Job 31:4  God is the one who knows what I do and sees every step I take.
Job 31:5  "I have not lied to anyone. I never tried to cheat people.
Job 31:6  If God would use accurate scales, he would know that I am innocent.
Job 31:7  If I ever stepped off the right path, if my eyes led my heart to do evil, or if my hands are dirty with sin,
Job 31:8  then let others eat what I planted. Let my crops be pulled up by the roots.

Job was the most righteous man of his time. He knew that God was watching him and he wanted to please God. The LORD had a good word about Job while talking to the angels and satan.

Job 1:8  Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you noticed my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him. He is a good, faithful man. He respects God and refuses to do evil."
Job 1:9  Satan answered the LORD, "But Job has a good reason to respect you.
Job 1:10  You always protect him,...

The LORD responded to satan, allowing satan to afflict Job as a test. Now no one wants their faith to be tested by pain and affliction, but sometimes we must by faith endure and go through things. This would not be the last time that satan would cause harm to God's people, although I believe that we are under God's protection when we are in Jesus Christ. One thing is for sure, our righteousness is not of our self, it is by trusting that the blood of Jesus has atoned for our sins. Our righteousness is the righteousness of Christ. Like Job before us, we trust God and seek to do Good. Faith that cannot be tested cannot be trusted. Through all of our pain we are to trust the LORD. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

1Pe 1:5  God's power protects you through your faith, and it keeps you safe until your salvation comes. That salvation is ready to be given to you at the end of time.
1Pe 1:6  I know the thought of that is exciting, even if you must suffer through different kinds of troubles for a short time now.
1Pe 1:7  These troubles test your faith and prove that it is pure. And such faith is worth more than gold. Gold can be proved to be pure by fire, but gold will ruin. When your faith is proven to be pure, the result will be praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ comes.

Keep going, for our glory with Christ is our enduring reward.

Reprove Them

Eph 5:11  Have no part in the things that people in darkness do, which produce nothing good. Instead, tell everyone how wrong those things are.
Eph 5:12  Actually, it is shameful to even talk about the things those people do in secret.

Eph 5:13  But the light makes clear how wrong those things are. (ERV)

Sometimes in a chatroom someone will use vile words, filthy talk and often they will use these words towards someone with an opposing viewpoint of life. People with similar viewpoints say nothing to the vile speaking person. There is no decency in this type of behavior. We are to reprove such a one. Show them that their speech is unacceptable in a public place. When reproved, the focus turns to you who have warned him of his filthy talk. Be prepared to be spattered with evil words when reproving a vile person. We are to care for their soul and also be the light in a room taken over by darkness. If they continue to bad mouth you, click the ignore button or remove yourself from their presence. Have no fellowship with darkness. We can however be friendly to those of opposing viewpoints. Be respectful and try to bring kindness to the conversation.

Psa 50:20  You sit around talking about people, finding fault with your own brothers.
Psa 50:21  When you did these things, I said nothing. So you thought that I was just like you. But I will not be quiet any longer. I will correct you and make clear what I have against you.

Psa 50:22  You people who have forgotten God, understand what I am telling you, or I will tear you apart, and no one will be able to save you! (ERV)

Is there is no fear of God in the land?

Remember

Hos 4:6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Hos 4:7  As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.

Pro 29:18  Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

I think of the misdeeds of our politicians that respond to an inquiry: "I forgot, I don't remember".  Where there is lawlessness, there is a lack of knowledge, a lack of judgment and truth. By choosing to not remember God, then all truth is lost. God remembers and we will must give an account to him. Another tragedy is that the powerful escape the law and the poor and defenseless often are required to suffer more from the wrath of the law. It is the poor and defenseless that God loves. When it is in our power to do good, we must obey God. We must be made new through Jesus.

Israel as a covenant nation was called the people of God. When they forgot their God and went their own way, then God gave them over to their lusts. America was founded under the guidance of God and on our money is the motto "In God We Trust".  Is this only a slogan to be ignored? The problems in our nation are caused by the rejection of God. Without God, then there is no truth.

Isa 5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isa 5:21  Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Okay, it is easy to see someone elses sin, but what is a person of God to do? One thing we are prone to do is to see the failings of others and not our own. Stay in Christ, do not discard him. We cannot serve God if we are in rebellion. We are not to remove ourselves from realtionships. Share what God means to you. Share his blessings, your testimony. Keep going even as the world is turned morally upside down. Jesus is in the boat with you and he will take us through the troubled waters. You are of a life giving spirit, in Jesus Christ our Lord. Live an abundant life.

Quiet trust

Pro 10:14  Wise people are quiet and learn new things, but fools talk and bring trouble on themselves.
Pro 10:15  Wealth protects the rich, but poverty destroys the poor.
Pro 10:16  What good people do brings life, but wicked people produce only sin. (ERV)

It is the quiet trusting in the LORD that brings peace and answers to life's problems. Often we are talking when we should be praying. The fool, the one who says there is no God, often does not see clearly. He expresses his thoughts, concerns and anger, polluting the ears of the hearer. All people have similar problems and concerns, it is how we react to them that matters.

Pro 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Pro 3:7  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

The people of God should seek to do good. Everything should be uplifting and life giving to a Spirit filled child of God. We sometimes grumble and complain, but we do not continue in this. We are not alone, we are not alone in Christ Jesus. We were bought with the price of His blood.. He died to overcome sin in our lives and he is risen to bring us into new life. He has overcome all for us. Can we not overcome our problems in him? Sure we can, with a thankful heart. Thank you Jesus for life. May I share life with others. You are the life and the light of this world. By your light we can see clearly.

The Republican Chat Room

I began to get onto AOL in June of 1998. I was drawn to the numerous Chat rooms. This was new to me and new to America, this American thing where strangers met behind a screen name to say anything that came out of their hearts. This was a true pioneer thing, a new movement of souls into new territory. I felt a call to minister in the Chat rooms where people could be themselves without social stigma. Everyone was on an even footing, but I soon saw the strife, the battles of good and evil. My desire was to be in a chat where there was no strife, a place of peace and open sharing about the things of God. I wanted a Christian place wihout the strife of the AOL made Christian rooms. This is how our Christian chats began. The member made AOL Chats were numerous  and so were the regular AOL rooms. A Born Again room would always be full to the 36 person limit and anoher room would appear. Born Again 2, then, 3, up to Born Again 6 at times.

This all began before 911, 2001 and the attack on America. I began to make converts through the word of God and by the work of God, two years before 2001 and two years after. It was a thing of God. During this time hundreds were led to Jesus. Most notably were Sarah, the Free family and one of the last people saved in the chats was Susy Sunshine who faithfully sends out here encouraging Bible verses and pictures as a ministry. She has remained on AOL as my ministry friend for over eleven years.

The AOL chats began to thin out with new ways to get on the Internet. The Christian Chats were fewer and to go online on AOL, looking at the chats there were numerous chats made by people that were evil. Morality had further declined and it was like the time of Noah as described in the Bible.

Mat 24:37  "When the Son of Man comes, it will be the same as what happened during Noah's time.
Mat 24:38  In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving their children to be married right up to the day Noah entered the boat.
Mat 24:39  They knew nothing about what was happening until the flood came and destroyed them all. "It will be the same when the Son of Man comes. (ERV)

Our Eaglewings Ministry has continued on AOL with Bible meetings and praise three times a week. Faithful people of God come into the rooms to share and magnify the Lord. Jesus is Lord. Recently some have been given notice that they had to leave the old AOL to the new AOL Gold. Verizon has taken over AOL and they are redoing AOL and asking for a monthly free. I am on AOL Gold now. The web browser is an improved Chrome Browser. The function of emails and chats have continued, but in a scaled down version. The letters only have black and white and access to the computer files from AOL no longer works. The chats are all empty except for one called Politics - Republicans.  In that room I have counted 21 people. No one is happy with AOL Gold, it is a basic version that looks like it was made as a high school project.

What is happening? God gave us a miracle in the election that changed the direction America was heading. Like the old AOL chats America was full of evil things. I see this time as a reset button, another chance to repent and turn to God. Noah's boat is ready, Jesus is calling you to enter in with him. It is time to bring your family into the Ark. Will you get on board the boat and be with Jesus as the Day of the Lord approaches?

Isa 13:9  Look, the LORD'S special day is coming! It will be a terrible day. God will be very angry. He will destroy the country and wipe out the sinful people who live there.
Isa 13:10  The skies will be dark. The sun, the moon, and the stars will not shine.
Isa 13:11  The Lord says, "I will cause bad things to happen to the world. I will punish the evil people for their sin. I will make proud people lose their pride. I will stop the bragging of cruel people.
Isa 13:12  There will be only a few people left. They will be as rare as pure gold.
Isa 13:13  In my anger I will shake the sky, and the earth will be moved from its place." That will happen on the day the LORD All-Powerful shows his anger.

A Prating Fool

In most public chat rooms you will meet those described here as prating fools.

Pro 10:8  The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

prating: lip, language, speech, brim

Not receiving God's word, the prating fool, the one who speaks from an evil heart, he will fall.

The shame and ruin of the disobedient, that will not be governed, nor endure any yoke, that will not be taught, nor take any advice. They are fools, for they act against themselves and their own interest; they are commonly prating fools, fools of lips, full of talk, but full of nonsense, boasting of themselves, prating spitefully against those that admonish them. (Matthew Henry)

Pro 10:10  He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

Politic, designing, self-disguising sinners: He that winks with the eye, as if he took no notice of you, when at the same time he is watching an opportunity to do you an ill turn, that makes signs to his accomplices when to come into assist him in executing his wicked projects, which are all carried on by trick and artifice, causes sorrow both to others and to himself. Ingenuity will be no excuse for iniquity, but the sinner must either repent or do worse, either rue it or be ruined by it. (Matthew Henry)

In the chats some want to take over, prating bad words, opposing the work of God.

Diotrephes

3Jn 1:9  I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.
3Jn 1:10  Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
3Jn 1:11  Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Winning a debate in a chat room or in a public place, does not make them a winner. A winner obeys God and does good. A prating fool should be avoided. He will only cause strife and perhaps lead the simple away from the truth of God.

Darkness and Light

Eph 5:11 Have no part in the things that people in darkness do, which produce nothing good. Instead, tell everyone how wrong those things are.
Eph 5:12 Actually, it is shameful to even talk about the things those people do in secret.
Eph 5:13 But the light makes clear how wrong those things are.
Eph 5:14 Yes, everything is made clear by the light. This is why we say, "Wake up, you who are sleeping! Rise from death, and Christ will shine on you."
Eph 5:15 So be very careful how you live. Live wisely, not like fools.
Eph 5:16 I mean that you should use every opportunity you have for doing good, because these are evil times.
Eph 5:17 So don't be foolish with your lives, but learn what the Lord wants you to do. (ERV)

Part of the reason for division in our country is that at least half the nation has followed the ways of sin and when the light comes they hate the light and do all they can to put it out. Traditional morality from the Bible is scorned and all manner of words and actions are taken to remove these "chains" from them. Actually the freedom they think they have is no more than bondage to sin and idolotry. The addict does anything to get more to continue the addiction. The darkness hates the light, but the light is truth. We must have truth.

Joh 3:19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Joh 3:20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Joh 3:21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Let the light of God shine. It is the presence of the Holy Spirit that convicts people of their sins.

Joh 16:8 And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Joh 16:9 of sin, because they believe not on me;
Joh 16:10 of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye behold me no more;
Joh 16:11 of judgment, because the prince of this world hath been judged.(ASV)

Not believing in God and Jesus his Son is the sin of unbelief. God is righteous, his Son brought redemption and his righteousness to humans. They must be born again. Judgment is knowing right from wrong, knowing that Satan and sin has been judged at the cross. Sin has been paid for by the blood of the Lamb and the devil knows his final judgment in the lake of fire is coming. He will do all he can to cover the world in sin, rebellion and darkness. We are to roll back the darkness with the light of God. It is spiritual warfare, so take up your cross, your Bible and follow the truth of God.

Minister Grace

Eph 4:29  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Eph 4:30  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Regardless to whom we are speaking, we are to speak words of grace; good words to edify, to warn, to bring good to the hearer. We're not to let darkness speak through us, because by doing this we grieve the Holy Spirit. We want the Holy Spirit to be edified as we edify the Lord. If the harvest fruit is not ready we are not to knock it to the ground with coarse words and step on it. This would grieve the Spirit. If the words of those speaking to you are grieving the Holy Spirit in you, give them grace, but do not allow them to continue to grieve your spirit. Remove yourself from them.

Joh 8:58  Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Joh 8:59  Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Speak words of grace and quietly go on about your business. We will be judged by our words. All will give account before the Lord.

The Gospel of the Cross

Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

1Co 1:18  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1Co 1:19  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1Co 1:20  Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1Co 1:21  For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

I have had this verse, Romans 1:16 printed on a card for many years, where I can see it often. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.  It is not a gospel of good works, for our efforts will not save us. It is not a gospel of love, for love and feelings alone will not save us. It is not a gospel of God or many gods leading to salvation, for there is only one way for our sins to be removed. The way is by the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who came from spiritual heaven to become a human to die on the cross to pay the price for our sins. You cannot share the gospel without the cross where Jesus shed his blood to pay for all sins of those who will believe. By believing this we are adopted into the family of God. Remember this: Jesus is God who came in a flesh human body in order to legally justify the forgiveness of sins. The one God is Spirit; God the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus came in a human body in order to shed his pure sinless blood in our place.

Peter who denied Christ three times, was converted and filled with the Holy Spirit who gave him boldness to witness for Jesus. The Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus.

Act 4:10  Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Act 4:11  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Act 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Salvation comes to us by faith in Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and by his own power, the power of God, he was raised from the grave. Because he lives we who trust in him live.

Who do you identify with?

Who do you identify with? Are you meek and humble and do you love the word of God?  Or are you like so many who live in a delusion and have no place for God? A world apart from God is in confusion and delusions. They welcome evil but are against that which is good. They embrace what God hates.

Isa 66:1  Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
Isa 66:2  For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
Isa 66:3  He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Isa 66:4  I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
Isa 66:5  Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
Isa 66:6  A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

Forgive your Brother

There are lots of verses about forgiveness, but this one adds repentance to forgiveness. Is this a way out of forgiving a brother if he will not repent?

Luk 17:3  Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
Luk 17:4  And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

I assume that a brother is one who is of like faith. If a brother sins against you and repents, then we are to forgive him. What if he will not repent? Repentance is required for true forgiveness. If he will not repent, then we give him to the Lord. A brother in the Lord should know right from wrong so we cannot say that he doesn't know what he has done. Pray that God will convict him and leave it with God. We are not to harbor ill feelings towards a brother. Just do not give him opportunity to sin again against you. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil Lord. If the brother is a family member who does not know the Lord, then we forgive him and like Jesus we may pray, forgive him, for he knows not what he has done. If he sins willingly, give him to the Lord and do not harbor ill will, for it will interfere with your worship. Make sure that you are not the cause of the offence. Love your brother and give him mercy. He may be unaware of any wrong doing.

Mat 5:21  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Mat 5:22  But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Mat 5:23  Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Mat 5:24  Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

In truth, we all have sinned for no one is perfect. Do not be casting stones. Forgiveness is a gift that we may give, for we have received it from God. His love we have received, so we are to give love as well.

The Missing Gift

Pro 6:1  My son, don't make yourself responsible for the debts of others. Don't make such deals with friends or strangers.
Pro 6:2  If you do, your words will trap you.
Pro 6:3  You will be under the power of other people, so you must go and free yourself. Beg them to free you from that debt.
Pro 6:4  Don't wait to rest or sleep.
Pro 6:5  Escape from that trap like a deer running from a hunter. Free yourself like a bird flying from a trap.

I was given a thumb drive with 250 old hymns with parts for a quartette several years ago. Yesterday the one who gave me the music
asked to have it back. I could not find it! I did not want to take something that belonged to another, so all day the missing computer thumb drive was on my mind. I searched every important place that it could be. In the evening my daughter was off work and helped me look for the small thumb drive. I returned to the drawer that I had searched twice before and there it was, bright red, but I had overlooked it twice. I wrote an email to my friend that I would bring the drive to him at our next meeting. I did not want to be in debt to a friend.

Many of us have been responsible for a debt of a family member. I see this as a gift to them. Jesus paid for all of our debts of sin and transgressions of the laws of God. Jesus paid for it all and in returned gave us gifts to be used. When he returns he will reward us as to how we used these gifts. May we not have hid it and never found it, he expects a return on his investment that he has given to us. This is explained in the parable of the talents. (Matthew 25:14-30)

Have you lost the gift that was entrusted to you?

New Heaven and a New Earth

Isa 65:17  "I am creating a new heaven and a new earth. The troubles of the past will be forgotten. No one will remember them.
Isa 65:18  My people will be happy and rejoice forever and ever because of what I will make. I will make a Jerusalem that is full of joy, and I will make her people happy.
Isa 65:19  "Then I will rejoice with Jerusalem. I will be happy with my people. There will never again be crying and sadness in that city.
Isa 65:20  In that city there will never be a baby who lives only a few days, and every older person will live for a long, long time. A person who lives 100 years will be called young. And whoever doesn't live that long will be considered cursed.
Isa 65:21  "In that city whoever builds a house will live there; whoever plants a vineyard will eat the grapes from that garden.
Isa 65:22  Never again will one person build a house and another person live there. Never again will one person plant a garden and another eat the fruit from it. My people will live as long as the trees. My chosen people will get full use of whatever they make.
Isa 65:23  Never again will a woman suffer childbirth and have her baby die. Women will not fear childbirth. I, the LORD, will bless all my people and their children.
Isa 65:24  I will answer them before they call for help. I will help them before they finish asking.
Isa 65:25  Wolves and little lambs will eat together. Lions will eat hay like cattle, and snakes will eat only dust. They will not hurt or destroy each other on my holy mountain." This is what the LORD said.

Isaiah speaks of the Millennium and beyond to when there will be a New Jerusalem come down as an eternal dwelling place for the Lord and his people. Earth will be restored and a new earth and a new heaven will be made. We do not know the details. Jesus makes all things new.

2Co 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

He has given us his inheritance and it will be wonderful.

1Co 2:9  But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"—

Rom 8:16  The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Rom 8:17  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Rom 8:18  For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Rom 8:19  For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
Rom 8:20  For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
Rom 8:21  that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
Rom 8:22  For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
Rom 8:23  And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

What was promised will come about, so do not give up hope.

Finish It!

Luk 14:27  And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Luk 14:28  For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Luk 14:29  Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Luk 14:30  Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

Jesus is speaking of those who would be his disciples. He gives a parable of building a tower. First comes the foundation.

1Co 3:9  For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
1Co 3:10  According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Co 3:11  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:12  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1Co 3:13  Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

The foundation of our faith is Jesus Christ. We who are on the foundation are building together a building, the church is the building of God. Peter describes us as lively stones. The building we are building is a spiritual house. We are the temple of the Living God.

1Pe 2:5  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pe 2:6  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe 2:7  Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

Have you given up; have you quit? Is the building in disrepair? Are you off center, off your foundation? Return to your sound foundation and walk in truth until you are complete in the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not give up, keep going.

Do we lose our salvation? Are those who do not continue by going to church, reading their Bibles, fellowshipping with other believers, are these lost? For sure the devil and his people may mock you or even have you mocking the Lord which you were trusting.

In the parable of the sower, four sowings of seed (the word of God) were recorded. Only one sowing fell on good ground and multiplied.

Mar 4:3  Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
Mar 4:4  And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
Mar 4:5  And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
Mar 4:6  But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
Mar 4:7  And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
Mar 4:8  And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
Mar 4:9  And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

According to this parable only one in four continue to bear fruit for the kingdom of God. I think a lot of people allow the cares of this life to choke out the word of God. Stay in the word of fith and trust God to the completion of this life on earth. Then you will be with the Lord forever. Salvation depends on our works? No, but our works after salvation experience will show if it is the real thing.

Rejoice

Pro 29:6  In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

An evil man is at war with himself. His conscience is against him or it may be seared and deadened by his sin. He continues on as a living dead person. The righteous man, the man who loves God and is forgiven of sins, he has a clear conscience. He can sing and rejoice even in time of affliction. Those who are forgiven of sins by the redemption and salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ are given a new clean heart. They are given the Holy Spirit with the gifts of the Spirit and they have joy.

Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

We are given a choice, to walk in the spirit or to act as unsaved men. Choose life and worship God with a clean heart.

Eph 5:19  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Col 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Php 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Be My Vision

Pro 29:18  Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

A prophet was called a seer. He was able to see and hear from God and it was to be spoken before a people. Without vision, without seeing the message of God, the people perish. Contrast not seeing God's word with those who know and obey God; Happy is he that keepeth the law. It is good to set goals, especially those inspired of God. Some seeking power, have given up godly counsel for the relentless pursuit of power and money. they may use even evil methods of lying, cheating and manipulating to achieve their goal of power. Often when they have what they wanted, they are still empty and not satisfied. It is better to seek the things of God. If we see what God is saying to us, from prayer and reading his word, we keep our souls in touch with the living God and we do well.

Pro 11:17  The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

Mat 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mat 16:25  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 16:26  For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
