Jehovah and Angels

Psa 34:3  Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!

Psa 34:4  I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.

Psa 34:5  Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.

Psa 34:6  This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.

Psa 34:7  The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Psa 34:8  Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Magnify the LORD Jehovah who  saves from all troubles. The Jews have a covenant relationship with Jehovah. Gentiles, non Jews, must come to Jehovah through Jesus. This is the New Covenant in his blood. Blood was the requirement for sins. Jesus had no sins and he took our sins so that we may be forgiven.

What is this about angels? Do I believe in angels? Yes, they are spirits that sometimes are seen  appearing as  men, not women as are so often portrayed in art. There is a devil as well, not red with a pitchfork as seen in art, but of a beautiful appearance.

2Co 11:14  ... for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

2Co 11:15  So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

Jesus is our righteousness, self righteousness is unacceptable to Jehovah.  By coming to Jesus, Jehovah God sees us as in his righteous son. What do angels do for us? They are messengers and servants. We do not pray to them nor do we worship them, because they are created beings as we are. Satan wants to be worshiped, but he is always opposite of what God wants. Jesus is not an angel, he is as his Father in heaven.  Angels minister to those who are  saved in Jesus.

Heb 1:13  And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?

Heb 1:14  Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?

I have had help from an angel several times. Two times I was in a near collision when I cried out to God and my car was stopped short of damage. Have you had close encounters? An angel may have helped you.

HOLD FAST

Php 2:13  for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

Php 2:14  Do all things without grumbling or disputing,

Php 2:15  that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

Php 2:16  holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

When we submit to God through Christ Jesus, then it is He who works in you and through you to accomplish his will. We still have that old nature that must be put off; the grumbling and complaining. Have you ever seen our nation so full of grumblers, complainers, blamers, destroyers as there is today? They do not want to keep the laws, they want to defund the police and change the constitution. Cities are burned and stores looted with the mayors and governors approving of this. They need to come to Jesus and repent so that they might be saved from the wrath of God on the children of disobedience. If not, they will spend a good part of their life in jail.

We are to be blameless and innocent children in a crooked and perverse generation. Let the light of God shine. Hold fast to the word of God so that when Jesus comes for us we can be proud, because he approves of us. Pride usually is bad in the Bible, but as obedient servants if Christ approves of us we can be proud to be included in the eternal family of God. What is the world proud of? Hold fast to the word of life.

I used to do scuba diving and I saw some beautiful things in the ocean. One place there was a forest of kelp growing from the ocean floor. The kelp trees swayed in the currents but the roots were stuck to the rocks. The secure fastening to the rocks was called the "hold fast."  We are to be like this, holding fast to the rock that is Jesus and then we will survive the storms of life.

Every Knee Should Bow

Php 2:5  Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

Php 2:6  who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,

Php 2:7  but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

Php 2:8  And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Php 2:9  Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,

Php 2:10  so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

Php 2:11  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Do you understand what is being said here?  That Jesus is the Son of God who was with God from eternity, who came as a human to die for our sins? He came as a humble servant who died and rose again being highly exalted. His name is above all names, every knee shall bow to him and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Can we empty ourselves and be filled by God as his servants? If we come to Jesus he will bring us to the Father as adopted son's and daughters of God. He loves us this much.

Meeting Needs

1Jn 3:17  But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?

1Jn 3:18  Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

My nephew saw that I was low on firewood and he brought us firewood from his orchard. That was appreciated and it was because he chose to do it. Meeting needs requires that we know if someone has a need that we can help meet. It requires some sort of relationship. Go to prayer for your needs.

George Muller in the 1800's, established orphanages that were supplied by prayer. He would pray for any need that he had and the Lord would have people meet their needs.

If you have a real need and not just a want, then it will be met if we pray about it and make it known.

My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.--Philippians 4:19

Sing Unto Him a New Song

Psa 33:1  Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

Psa 33:2  Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.

Psa 33:3  Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Psa 33:4  For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Praise singing was wonderful Sunday, the LORD was in our presence. We sang two traditional hymns and a newer one that we were familiar with and then suddenly the power was turned off by the power company. They turned the power off as a safety precaution because of strong winds and  the danger of fires in the dry plants. We had been prepared for this so we turned on battery powered lights and played the piano and acoustic guitars as we finished singing the familiar hymn. Then a newer song was sung. The singer played  the guitar skillfully and sang unto the Lord. It was for the Lord. The new song had repetition like many of the new choruses. I was unable to understand the words, for I had forgotten my hearing device.  The words to a hymn should contain the word of God and truth from a heart of worship. There are hymns that are great for congregational singing and new songs can be sung unto the Lord to make a joyful noise! There is room for all that is lovely and meaningful and from the heart. Come let us praise the Lord together!

Choose Now

Php 1:20  as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.

Php 1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Php 1:22  If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.

Php 1:23  I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Php 1:24  But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.

2Co 5:4  For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

2Co 5:5  He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

2Co 5:6  So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord,

2Co 5:7  for we walk by faith, not by sight.

2Co 5:8  Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

2Co 5:9  So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.

These two passages show us that when we come to Christ Jesus, that when we die, our soul and spirit go directly to Jesus. Our souls do not sleep in a grave or get lost in cremation, our life continues with Jesus Christ. If not in Christ the soul waits for judgement. It is too late after death to come to Jesus. Make your salvation sure now and know that to die is to be with Jesus forever. The choice is ours. Chose eternal peace with God. There is no peace apart from him. Come to Jesus and find rest for your soul.

Mat 11:28  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Preach Christ

Php 1:14  And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Php 1:15  Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will.

Php 1:16  The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel.

Php 1:17  The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment.

Php 1:18  What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice,

The apostle Paul was under house arrest in Rome for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. In many of the nations of the world Christians are being persecuted and told not to preach from the Bible. Many are killed for telling the good news that in Jesus Christ we are forgiven of sins and accepted by God. Why the persecution for such a good message?  Because there is a devil who opposes everything good. He knows that he will be going into the lake of fire for eternity and he moves in the hearts and minds of people to oppose the message of Christ's victory and his defeat.  (Rev 20:10)

As Paul was in prison some of his brothers in the Lord preached Christ out of competition, they wanted to look good. Others preached God from love,  Still there are those who want to build a big following glorifying themselves. But, regardless of the motives, just so long that Christ is preached, that is what is most important.  There are a lot of churches who have lost sight of their purpose; to preach Jesus Christ and the cross for the remission of sins.  They build their own brands of Christianity. Get back to preaching Christ. So long as he is preached, that is what is important.

Act 4:8  Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders,

Act 4:9  if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,

Act 4:10  let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well.

Act 4:11  This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.

Act 4:12  And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Not Ashamed

Psa 25:2  O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

This is also a beautiful hymn.

 UNTO THEE O LORD

Psa 74:20  Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

Psa 74:21  O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

In Jesus we are forgiven of sins and he has power over the devil who would oppress you.

Psa 127:3  Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Psa 127:4  As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

Psa 127:5  Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Happy am I to have children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as the family of God.

Isa 45:17  But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

God has a covenant with Israel and when Messiah Jesus returns they all will be saved who trust in him.

Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

This last verse is first in my mind. Jesus is our salvation and believing the word of God has the power to save us from evil.  We become the redeemed, the sanctified and the justified. You might look up the meaning of those words. That's my sharing for today, Love you all family and friends.

God made Everything

Psa 33:4  For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Psa 33:5  He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

Psa 33:6  By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

The first thing we should all believe is that there is a God and that he created the earth and the heavens, including the angels, and all living things.  He made us special; He created humans in his own image. God is spirit and our spirit was united with his until Adam and Eve sinned. Jesus came to restore us back to fellowship with God. We can talk to him and he guides us until that day we are with him forever.  I had a dream last night that I was sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to an uninterested mob.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God made everything by speaking it into existence. He is truth and science depends on him keeping things in order. He is good and loves righteousness and justice.  He loves us through Jesus who took the punishment for our sins and has overcome death for us.

The Greatest Commandment

1Jn 3:21  Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;

1Jn 3:22  and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.

1Jn 3:23  And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.

1Jn 3:24  Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

First, we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ.  Through Jesus our sins are forgiven and we are become children of God. God answers our prayers. What after this is the most important commandment?

Mat 22:36  “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

Mat 22:37  And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

Mat 22:38  This is the great and first commandment.

Mat 22:39  And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Mat 22:40  On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Live Wisely

Eph 5:13  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Eph 5:14  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Eph 5:15  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Eph 5:16  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

All the craziness we see going on in our nation has occurred in many nations before ours as a way to gain power under socialism and communism. As we are to vote, do not vote against the foundations of our country which are freedoms we all have. We are a Republic. Under socialism our freedoms will disappear and we will be like Venezuela. Many people are asleep and do not see what is going on. The enemy is spiritual, and evil.

God gave us light and that light was in his son, Jesus. This is where we find truth.

John 14:6  Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.

Through Jesus we have the Holy Spirit and he helps us to live wisely and not as fools.  Give your life to God and do good. He will guide you and show you the best purpose for your life. Do not let life make you bitter, Jesus loves you and has made the way for you to have a good life. There is more for you in Jesus and the word of truth, the Bible. I pray that you will see with God's eyes and do good. He has a purpose and his family for you, so be wise, choose wisely and make good use of your time.

Son of God and son of man

Mark 12:35  Jesus was teaching in the Temple area. He asked, "Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?

Mar 12:36  With the help of the Holy Spirit, David himself says, 'The Lord God said to my Lord: Sit by me at my right side, and I will put your enemies under your control.'

Mar 12:37  David himself calls the Messiah 'Lord.' So how can the Messiah be David's son?" Many people listened to Jesus and were very pleased.

To explain this lets look at how the virgin learned that she was chosen to give birth to the Messiah

Luke 1:30  And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

Luk 1:31  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Luk 1:32  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

Luk 1:33  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Luk 1:34  Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

Luk 1:35  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Both Mary and her engaged to be husband, Joseph were of the lineage of King David from the tribe of Judah.  The truth is that Jesus always existed in spirit form with Almighty God who is spirit.  God was the father of Jesus who came as a human through the Virgin Mary.

There were many prophecies of a future Messiah or Christ, meaning the anointed one. There were also prophesies saying that this is the Son of God.  Jesus himself referred to his early existence before his birth. He spoke of being the I AM, the title of God.

John 8:56  Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

Joh 8:57  Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

Joh 8:58  Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

God is spirit manifested as the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are one God, in the Hebrew Elohiym. All are the one God who created all there is.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God (Elohym) created the heaven and the earth.

I am using the Bible to explain the Bible. It is a spiritual book. Let the Holy Spirit teach you;  He is the spirit of truth.

Do Not Love the World

1Jn 2:15  Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

1Jn 2:17  And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

If we love things more than God, then they become idols.  The desires of the worldly  people are focused on things that do not last. The desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes and the pride of life.

Psa 10:3  For the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul, and the one greedy for gain curses and renounces the LORD.

Psa 10:4  In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”

We will leave all these things behind. What treasures do we have in heaven? What are things that will last forever?

Joy Comes In The Morning

Psalm 30:2  O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

Psa 30:3  O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

Psa 30:4  Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Psa 30:5  For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

It is the LORD who heals us.  This China virus will disappear when God stops it.  Many have been healed and we give thanks to our God. Sing unto him and remember that he is holy. As a nation there is much for our holy God to be angry about. We should be angry too at the evil that goes on. Repent and weep, put away your anger before bed time and he will bring you joy in the morning.

Ephesians 4:26  Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Eph 4:27  Neither give place to the devil.

Lamentations 3:21  This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

Lam 3:22  It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Lam 3:23  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Start your day thanking God and hearing him for directions. Each morning is new with mercies and joy for us. Sing a happy song.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

In the Light

1Jn 1:5  This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

1Jn 1:6  If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

1Jn 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

1Jn 1:8  If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

First we come out of the darkness into the light of God. Then we confess that he exists and has perfect righteousness.

Heb 11:6  And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Jesus is God's son who came to make a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and bad life. Our sin misses God's best for us. Blood was required for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus gave his perfect life for our sins. His blood was spilled on the cross at Calvary. Jesus is alive now forever more, He overcame sin and death for us.

Those who walk in the light and truth of God have fellowship together in His light. If we sin as believers in Christ Jesus, we just confess our sins and he forgives us.

First we believe that there is an Almighty God.

Second, By faith we come to Jesus for forgiveness of sins. By doing this God becomes our father and he sees us as without sin as if we were his Son.

Third, If we sin after being forgiven, we confess our sins and God forgives us as if we were in his Son. We have fellowship with others who are forgiven of their sins. Those who are forgiven are with God forever.

We Have Seen

We have witnesses proclaiming salvation in Jesus from the mountain tops and we have the witness of the apostles who were with him when he came to earth. John describes what he saw in the Book of John and also in his epistles.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus was in the beginning of creation. He is the Word, with God and the Word was God. Jesus is the Son of God.

He spoke this in the epistle (letter) of  1John.

1John 1:1  That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—

1Jn 1:2  the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—

1Jn 1:3  that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

1Jn 1:4  And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

John was with Jesus, he touched him, he saw and heard him. He saw the miracles and he saw him crucified and risen from the grave on the third day. He witnessed  the truth of  the gospel (good news) that in Jesus we have eternal life. We have the witness of the apostles and  Thomas who saw and touched Jesus after he arose from the tomb.

John  20:27  Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.”

Joh 20:28  Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

Joh 20:29  Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Truthfully, the young people do not hear these things. If not going to a church. They do not know that the emptiness of life can be turned to Joy by faith in the Living Word, that is Jesus Christ.

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Good News

The prophets have proclaimed the good news. The good news gives hope to the people of God.

Nahum 1:15  Behold, upon the mountains, the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah; fulfill your vows, for never again shall the worthless pass through you; he is utterly cut off.

The prophet Isaiah expands the prophecy.  How beautiful are the feet of him who brings good news, who publish peace, happiness and salvation from the mountains of Zion and Jerusalem.

Isaiah 52:7  How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”

Isaiah 52:8  The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the LORD to Zion.

Isaiah 52:9  Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem.

Again the good news is proclaimed by the apostle Paul. He proclaims the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:13  For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:14  How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

Romans 10:15  And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Romans 10:16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?”

Romans 10:17  So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

You have heard the good news from three sources in the word of God. It takes two witnesses to confirm something; we have three and a multitude who preach the good news that in Jesus Christ we are saved from our sins and are made members of the household of our God. Faith comes from hearing , and hearing through the word of God. You will not hear these things in the (fake) news media. Do you hear the truth? Jesus is calling you from on high.

Eph 6:13  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

Eph 6:14  Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Eph 6:15  and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

In the past ten years I have had the joy to play Christmas music at the mall with the Shasta Brass band. One of our music selections was "Go Tell It On The Mountain" in which I had a trombone solo. This year of 2020 everything is put on hold, but do not hold hold back from receiving the good news of Jesus Christ.

Long suffering

2Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2Peter 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

The Lord is long suffering towards us and that is good. He could have taken my life long ago, but he gives us time to repent. To turn away from idols and sin and to turn to God in humility. The Day of the Lord will come fast and all will be burned up. God can burn it up and make it new and better again.

2Pe 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Jesus will return to rule and to reign for a thousand years and then a new dwelling place will come prepared for us in Christ Jesus. The Lord is long suffering and will give us a second chance here and now, but after this life there is no other chance to be saved.

2Co 6:2  God says, "I heard you at the right time, and I gave you help on the day of salvation." I tell you that the "right time" is now. The "day of salvation" is now.

Jesus gave his life to bring us forgiveness and eternal life. We can come to him and he saves us. Thank you Jesus and may many come to you for forgiveness and a more abundant life.

A Prophets Dark Words

Micah 7:1  I am upset because I am like fruit that has been gathered, like grapes that have already been picked. There are no grapes left to eat. There are none of the early figs that I love.

Micah 7:2  By this I mean that all the faithful people are gone. There are no good people left. Everyone is planning to kill someone. Everyone is trying to trap their brother.

Micah 7:3  People are good at doing bad things with both hands. Officials ask for bribes. Judges take money to change their decisions in court. "Important leaders" do whatever they want to do.

Micah 7:4  Even the best of them is as crooked as a tangled thornbush. Your prophets said this day would come, and the day of your watchmen has come. Now you will be punished. Now you will be confused!

Micah 7:5  Don't trust your neighbor or trust a friend! Don't even speak freely with your wife.

Micah 7:6  Your enemies will be the people in your own house. A son will not honor his father. A daughter will turn against her mother. A daughter-in-law will turn against her mother-in-law.

Micah 7:7  So I will look to the LORD for help. I will wait for God to save me. My God will hear me.

Seeing in the darkness what is wrong takes the light of God. If we see the bad and do not like it, then we can come out of it to the light of God and make a difference. There is an election coming up that will decide what America will be like in the future. People see America as a land of freedom and opportunity. The founders of our nation believed in God and sought him for direction. If the nation turns completely away from God, then evil will grow in our government and our great nation will fall into darkness. Do not let this happen vote for life and justice. Let's not let the deep state sink us. (I approve of this message.) I have freedom to express the word and my thoughts. Let's keep our freedoms.

What is Essential?

Psa 27:1  Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The Government, under King Saul was out to get David and to destroy him. After Saul was tormented by an evil spirit he sought to kill David who was God's choice to be king after him.  Saul and his army chased David for twenty years before King Saul was finally killed in a battle. What was it that David trusted in? It was the LORD Jehovah. He is my light and my stronghold; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psa 27:4  One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.

Psa 27:5  For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.

What one thing did David desire most in his life on earth?  It wasn't the power and wealth of being king. David had a heart after God. " One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. " This is the heart of those who love the LORD.  When the king and the government close down the places of worship, most places of worship shut down.  When they heard from the LORD to open again, many opened their doors. Some met in homes and other places, but the reading of God's word, the preaching and teaching continued. The Church is the living Body of Christ made up of it's individual members, as living stones making up the temple. We are the temple of God.  He will lift me high upon a rock.  Jesus is the Rock of my salvation.

Heb 10:23  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Heb 10:24  And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,

Heb 10:25  not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Hopefully you have found others to meet together with who Love the LORD and worship him.  Some churches have become worldly and some have not reopened. Perhaps, that is a good thing. The true believers seek him in spirit and in truth. We belong together.

The Cornerstone

Eph 2:17  And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.

Eph 2:18  For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

Eph 2:19  So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

Eph 2:20  built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,

Eph 2:21  in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.

Eph 2:22  In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

Jesus is the cornerstone of the holy temple of God. I googled a definition of cornerstone from Chron.com:

It is the rock upon which the weight of the entire structure rests. It is the cornerstoneScripture describes Jesus as the "Chief Cornerstone" of our faith. ... Isaiah 28:16, "Therefore this says the Lord God: 'Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation.

The foundation must be strong and true.  From woodworking experience we use a framing square to make sure the structure is straight and true. The foundation of the church is solid and true. Jesus is the foundation. God hates an untrue measure in a scale.  The devil twists scriptures to make them say what they do not say. The way to God is the straight way, the narrow way which is Jesus. His words are true and he is our faithful High Priest interceding for us.  The foundation rock that is Jesus is what the church rests on.

Mat 7:24  “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Mat 7:25  And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

Mat 7:26  And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Mat 7:27  And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

The foundation is built on Jesus, the Living Word and then the apostles and the prophets who spoke the word of God. All who are in Jesus by faith are building the holy temple of God, this is the Church of Jesus Christ. Dig deeper into these truths for there is much more that could be said.

Merciful and Kind

Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Eph 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Eph 2:6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Eph 2:7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Our wonderful God has given to us Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and trespasses.  We do not earn this, it is by his grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Our spirit person sits with him in heavenly places. Throughout the ages he will show us grace and kindness as we are in Christ Jesus. Their will be no evil with Jesus. He will not remind us of past sins but instead we will be loved and receive his kindness. I see that we will learn many new things and all creation will be open to us. In Jesus he is preparing a dwelling place for us. We should meditate on this and be sure we are forgiven in him.

Heb 2:1  Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
