We Have Seen

We have witnesses proclaiming salvation in Jesus from the mountain tops and we have the witness of the apostles who were with him when he came to earth. John describes what he saw in the Book of John and also in his epistles.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus was in the beginning of creation. He is the Word, with God and the Word was God. Jesus is the Son of God.

He spoke this in the epistle (letter) of  1John.

1John 1:1  That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—

1Jn 1:2  the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—

1Jn 1:3  that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

1Jn 1:4  And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

John was with Jesus, he touched him, he saw and heard him. He saw the miracles and he saw him crucified and risen from the grave on the third day. He witnessed  the truth of  the gospel (good news) that in Jesus we have eternal life. We have the witness of the apostles and  Thomas who saw and touched Jesus after he arose from the tomb.

John  20:27  Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.”

Joh 20:28  Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

Joh 20:29  Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Truthfully, the young people do not hear these things. If not going to a church. They do not know that the emptiness of life can be turned to Joy by faith in the Living Word, that is Jesus Christ.

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
