The Door

John 10:7  Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
John 10:8  All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
John 10:9  I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

I visited a church with our Brass music group that had the children come up and look at a scale model of their church. The woman pastor asked the children where the entrance door of the church was. The pastor said the door to the church is acceptance and diversity. It is a liberal progressive church, a social gospel church. I wanted to shout out, JESUS is the door to the church. Yes all are accepted, but YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN. I was under the impression that all are welcome in that church building, to feel good about themselves and to give money and do good works, but where is the gospel? All are accepted, but Jesus will not accept those who are not his. I had read somewhere that the communists were behind these progressive churches to make a one world religion of diversity and tolerance. America is in trouble because so many churches are doing their own thing and not preaching the word of God.

Rev 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

The Author

1Co 14:33  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

The Christian Brass band that I play with in the Summer at various churches will have it's last gathering on August 2. All the other days in August people are on vacation or have other commitments. September is when summer is over and things get back to the usual tasks at hand. This September may be monumental according to the book "The Shemitah". This September follows the four blood moons that fall on Jewish feast days. September could bring about something monumental for the nation of Israel. As we were discussing the coming events in our Bible study Friday night, most were in agreement that we are to stay close to God. Jesus hold my hand and I will not let go no matter what events are coming. I thank my Lord and God for saving my soul. He has kept me this far and blessed our nation. I will hold tight to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Our Great High Priest and the Son of God.

Heb 5:8  Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Heb 5:9  And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Heb 5:10  Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Heb 12:1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The True God

Jer 10:10  But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
Jer 10:11  Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
Jer 10:12  He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

It is now a time when it is thought to be right to not have absolutes. The world says there is your truth, my truth, and they are to be so wishy washy tolerant of others; tolerance until you say there is absolute truth. The gray world of anything goes will not tolerate the separation of good and evil. There is truth and there is untruth. Not many truths but one truth from one God, the God of Israel, the Almighty God. Another religious group will kill anybody that does not believe as they do. They serve another god that is opposite from the God of Israel. Jesus came to seek and to save. The other group seeks to kill any who will not convert. There is no opposing truth. Truth stands alone and God is the origin of truth. The Holy Bible is the truth of God, although some twist the words to make them say what they were not meant to say. It is important for the Christian to seek God's truth and to obey Him. The world is annoyed by religion that is not tolerant. Eventually they will persecute the bearers of absolute truth and righteousness. We have been called to tell all who will hear the truth of God. This we must do in a putrefying gray world of moral decay. Without the truth of Jesus who came to be the payment for their sins, they will perish. The truth is life for those who seek him.

John 8:31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Stay Faithful

Rev 1:7  Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

At the Prayer Breakfast this morning an 82 year old pastor spoke to us. He said that he had been in a lot of pain but when he comes to share the message from God's word the pain leaves him. He was going to quit teaching, but has decided to continue. He spoke about our need to hold onto sound doctrine and to not fall away from the faith. The rapture is coming for those who are looking for and expecting the return of Jesus. Everything is lining up with the Bible prophecies of the end times.

Pastor Hagee spoke this morning of the decline of America. He said who would have believed this would happen 40 years ago? Russia and Iran and China are building up their military might as we are declining. The dollar is being manipulated for those of power and is unstable. He also spoke of the rapture being near at hand.

In church our pastor is speaking about who we are in Christ. We are not to seek our identity from the world. as a Christian we are what God's word says we are. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am an adopted son of the Most High God. The world will put names on us; bigot, racist, fundamentalist, Bible thumper, but as sons of God we serve the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. In him we overcome and every knee shall bow to the name of Jesus. Stay faithful and be prepared to meet the Lord. Let us pray for the church that God would strengthen them and deliver them from evil.

Faith and Grace

Abraham was justified by faith and received grace

Rom 4:24  But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
Rom 4:25  Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Rom 5:1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

We had quite a discussion in our Tuesday night Bible study about justification by faith. Justification is to be made righteous in our standing with God. We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ and receive peace with God through the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22,23). By faith we receive Grace, unmerited favor. We do not earn it, but it is given to us for salvation, for doing the work of God and for our eternal inheritance as adopted children of God.

Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Eph 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Eph 2:6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Eph 2:7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

This passage of verses in Ephesians sums it up. By faith we receive abundant grace and above all we are connected to God the Father who loves us. His love first filled us so that we can give it out to others along with the good news that in Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven, by faith. A true believer will repent from sin and die daily to self will and take up his cross and follow Jesus. The cross is where the old sinful self died so that we obey God and walk in our new life in Jesus Christ. How sweet is his love for us.
