Jerusalem - Isaiah 62

Isa 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

Looking to the future of Jerusalem. The LORD will not keep silent, nor rest, until righteousness and salvation come forth as brightness as a lamp that burns.

Isa 61:11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Salvation and truth came by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Isa 62:2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.

Isa 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

The Gentile church saw His righteousness and received salvation. At His second coming all kings shall see the glory coming to Jerusalem. In Isaiah 62:4 the new names for Jerusalem are given. The people of Zion shall have new names too. We are called Christians, but we shall have other names: The Bride of Christ, Saints, the Chosen, The Remnant are but a few names, but their are more. We shall personally be given a new name.

Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Perhaps our name will describe our character or calling. Simon, John and James were given surnames by Jesus.

Mark 3:16 And Simon he surnamed Peter;
Mark 3:17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

Isa 62:3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

Speaking of Jerusalem; a crown of glory, a royal city in the hand of the LORD and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Jesus will return with a rod of iron to bring righteous judgment to Jerusalem.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Isa 62:4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

Jerusalem was desolate in the time of the Baylonian captivity; but looking forward Jerusalem shall be honored with new names.

Hephzibah: My delight is in her

Beulah; Married, the land is married to the Lord

The New Jerusalem will come down as a bride.

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Isa 62:5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

In New Jerusalem

Isa 65:19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

Isa 62:6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence.

Watchmen that pray and hear from God, shall speak the word of God and not be silent. We who make mention of the LORD are to keep doing so. We are to be the light in a darkened world until Jesus returns in His glory.

Make mention: zachar; to remember, bring into mind, recollect; to mention, meditate upon, mark down, record, recall, and to retain in our thoughts. This is important that we continue to do this, and be not silent. The LORD is to be in our thoughts continuously and in our words.

Isa 62:7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Keep going until the Lord returns.

Isa 62:8 The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
Isa 62:9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.

No longer will the enemy conquer you. You may enjoy the fruit of your labor.

Deu 14:23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

Psa 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Isa 62:10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.

Isa 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Isa 40:4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
Isa 40:5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Isa 62:11 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Mat 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

Isa 40:10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Isa 62:12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

The Holy city is not Rome. The Holy people, the redeemed of the LORD: shall be gathered in Jerusalem. Wherever Jesus is, we will be with him.

Liberty to the Captives - Isaiah 61

Isa 61:1 The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

This verse is one of the most powerful prophecies fulfilled by our Lord Jesus Christ, when he came from heaven in the form of a man to deliver us from our sins. As he spoke, we who are in him may speak this as truth. The spirit of the Lord is upon me. The KJV does not capitalize Lord, so it refers to Jesus. The Holy Spirit from Jesus, is upon me; because the LORD (Father God) hath anointed me to preach good tidings (the gospel) unto the meek. I suppose the first application of this was to the prophet Isaiah, who preached the good tidings of a coming savior and his kingdom. Yet, Jesus himself fulfilled the prophesy as the anointed one; Messiah means anointed one and we as his followers are anointed by the Holy Spirit to continue his work of preaching to those who will hear: to the meek and humble. He hath sent us to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives; those both in physical bondage and those souls held captive by satan and personal sin. The opening of the prison to those who are bound. No one can be forgiven of sin, but through the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Another verse I have used with this one for those who are in bondage:

1 Cor 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Our Lord promises those of faith in him, that he will provide a way of escape from temptation and trials. I have shared these verses many times in witnessing and many upon believing were set free from years of bondage in a matter of weeks. Give all glory and praise to God, who keeps his word. His word is true and powerful and it destroys the work of the devil.

Isa 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

No man knows the day of the LORD but the Father, but now is the day of salvation, now is the time to receive Jesus and be free of sin and bondage. We forgive those who have sinned against us as we are forgiven from Jesus. Vengeance is of the Lord, he will make all things right in his time. At his coming he will destroy all evil and at the judgment all must give account for what they have done. Those of us who have been delivered and given grace shall not be under the wrath of God.

Jesus read Verses 1 and 2 to those of his home town:

Luke 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Luke 4:22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
Luke 4:23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.
Luke 4:24 And he said, Verily, I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

Many would not believe in him; but to those who do believe, they are made sons of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

He takes away sorrow, shame and depression, giving us a purpose; to glorify God with our lives wherever we are planted.

Isa 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

The work of God continues: Those of Zion, the chosen of God who mourn shall be comforted. They will be given beauty for ashes, a beautiful heart after our Lord Jesus Christ. They will receive the healing oil of joy, a fruit of the Holy Spirit. A garment is given, something to cover us, the garment of praise. Praise covers and protects from the spirit of heaviness and depression. Forget your medications for depression, instead put on praise.

Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Eph 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Praise glorifies the Lord, not praise to self, but to the LORD; praise that gives him honor and glory. That they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. He will make us as trees planted by the living waters as in Psalm 1.

Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Isa 61:4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

My first thought was to repair the United States, to it's original foundation on the word of God. To once again pray and teach the true reason for our counntry in our schools: to learn the Bible and to be a free people seeking righteousness and goodwill.

In the final years of the Babylonian captivity, seventy years had passed and it was time to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the walls of the city.

Ezra 9:9 For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.

Jerusalem was rebuilt at the time of Ezra and destroyed again after the death of the Messiah. Jesus came to restore souls and to be the atonement for our sins; now is the time of the Gentile church. A remnant of the Jews are being saved. Already Israel is in it's land, restoring the waste places, but when Jesus comes again, he will restore the earth. During the Millennium things will be as they should be with Jesus as king over the earth and it's life. Jesus is a life giving savior, full of grace and truth.

Isa 61:5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
Isa 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

We, who are in Christ shall go to him and be changed into our glorified bodies. We will return at his second coming to earth and rule them him as Priests and kings.

Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Rev 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Isa 61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

We will be given back what was taken from us, through captivity and sorrows. All will be restored in abundance. We have this purpose now; to help to restore those who will trust in Jesus and to keep them from falling away.

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

God will give back abundantly to those who have suffered loss for his sake.

Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Mat 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Mat 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Isa 61:8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

I will make an everlasting covenant with them. (A future promise) The New Covenant in the blood of Jesus had not yet come about. The LORD loves judgment and truth. No offering given is worthy if the heart is not in it. Jesus gave his body as an offering.

Phil 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

King David would not give an offering that did not cost him something.

2 Sam 24:24 ... neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing...

Isa 61:9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

The people of God should shine and be known as the blessed of the LORD.

Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Two beautiful gifts given to those of the New Covenant: the garment of salvation, being clothed in white linens, cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, and a robe of righteousness. A royal robe identifying us as the royal children of God, in Christ Jesus and fellow heirs of his blessings.

Isa 61:11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Jesus shall rule in righteousness to the praise of all who follow. He will make all the earth to flourish, for he is the creator.

Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

The presence of the King on earth will bring his righteousness as ruler and all will offer praise to the Most High King, the Son of God. No false worship and no dying again. Cry Hosanna, the eternal king lives and we are his people of righteousness.

Mat 21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

Jesus brought and will bring restoration and freedom from sin's captivity and punishment. His grace gives to us a new born again spirit and we are become sons and daughters of God our Father. He is our Savior and our King bringing God's kingdom to earth and restoring earth to it's original beauty as it was in the garden of Eden. He has delivered us from our sins.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Arise and Shine - Isaiah 60

Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isa 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

This refers to Israel in the Millennium, when the Lord comes amidst his chosen people Israel, but the application is for now, to those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ. Look around and we see the darkness covering the earth. Sin and shame and fear and despair cover the land, but we are not just from the land, we are made heavenly creations in Christ Jesus, his ambassadors and light bearers.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

What then? As ambassadors for Christ, we are not to be hidden in the darkness, but to get up and get out and shine for Jesus. Not only shine in appearance but with the word of life. We are not to be in darkness and gloom, we are to be like Jesus: full of life. He has arisen and his glory will be seen on us for we are in Christ by faith and the giving of his Holy Spirit. As He shined at the Mount of transfiguration, so we shall shine with a holy glow from within. We also are to associate with others of his light, encouraging one another, showing that we are one people of God; the Church of Jesus Christ and the chosen of God.

Mat 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
Mat 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
Mat 17:3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

The darkness needs the light from Jesus. Those who are of God, will come out of darkness; those who remain, prefer the darkness. Politically correct people of darkness, may persecute those of the light. It is God who makes the laws, not man. Any law that transgresses the law of God is sin and darkness. God is not mocked, for the light shines and that which is true will gladly respond to that light, and not come against it.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Isa 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

The church are mostly Gentiles who have come to the light. Even kings shall come; I think of the kings who responded to the light of the star of Bethlehem. Jesus is God incarnate, the bright and morning star, the one who brought us the light of God.

Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Isa 60:4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

Not only our natural family but our brothers and sisters of faith will come to the light of Jesus and in Israel many Jews from many lands shall return to the homeland, as they are now, and they will receive their Messiah.

Isa 60:5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

The nations are as the sea, a restless abundance of people. The abundance shall be converted unto thee. Sinners shall be saved, not by keeping the law or by partaking of the Jewish customs, but by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His blood continues to save and convert the sinner.

Isa 60:6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth the praises of the LORD.
Isa 60:7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.
Isa 60:8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
Isa 60:9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
Isa 60:10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.
Isa 60:11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.
Isa 60:12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.
Isa 60:13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

All the wealth and beauty of the nations, the Gentiles will bring with them to Israel, to worship the LORD. Jesus will be the everlasting king that all will come to serve and to honor. Apparently there will be a temple set up again at this time, according to Ezekial 40-48. There will be priests and sacrifices at the temple, but not for atonement, for Jesus was the final sacrifice for our redemption and atonement. It seems to me that the temple ceremonies and sacrifices would be to point to the Messiah, for those not yet saved, a sort of object lesson, perhaps for the children of those who were alive when Christ returns again. It may be somewhat like the teaching of the law, a picture of the holiness that is required through faith in Christ Jesus.

The sacrifices are for worship, consecration, and perhaps historical reenactment. (Guzik)

Isa 60:14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Isa 60:15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.
Isa 60:16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
Isa 60:17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.
Isa 60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

The sons of former enemies shall come and bow themselves low as the soles of your feet. They shall call Zion the place of the Holy King. There shall be abundance of milk and precious metals shall replace the common metals. It will be a glorious land, the habitation of the king of kings. The walls shall be called salvation, and the gates Praise.

Salvation is from Jesus, the chief cornerstone. He holds everything together and is our wall of defense and victory.

Psa 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
Psa 122:7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

The gates are praise.

Psa 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Psa 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Psa 100:5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Isa 60:19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
Isa 60:20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

This is New Jerusalem as described in Revelation

Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Isa 60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

Israel of God, the branch, those who have eternal life of the Jews, shall inherit the holy city forever.

Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
Jer 23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Isa 60:22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

The weak shall gather as a strong nation. We are weak in ourselves, but in Christ we have strength. We can look back to his first coming as a babe in Simeons arms as the old man prophecied:

Luke 2:30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Luke 2:31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
Luke 2:32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
Luke 2:33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Christ Jesus spoke as a man that he was that light sent from God, the Father.

John 12:45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

He is that blinding light that called Saul and converted him into the apostle to the Gentiles.

Acts 9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
Acts 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
Acts 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Acts 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Jesus was sent from heaven to die and be risen to save us from our sins. Jesus shall return as KING OF KINGS and we are called to witness of him. Get up, get going. Ye are the light of the world, the light of Jesus in a dark time.

John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
John 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

God Is (from the book of John)

God Is (Book of John)

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
John 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
John 3:32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
John 3:33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

We are to witness about Jesus who is true. He is to be honored, lifted up and glorified. We are to become less and less in the flesh, so that by his Spirit we will become more and more like him. Our work is to show the world Jesus, the Living Word, the only begotten Son of God the Father. We speak of earthly things; Jesus speaks from the throne of God. He who receives his testimony is sealed by the Holy Spirit, for God is true and Jesus is the truth of God. Jesus only spoke the words of God his father, to men; for he had the Spirit of God without measure and God is Spirit.

John 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Believe in Jesus, for we will worship him not in a place, but he will enter our innermost being; he will dwell within us. We do not worship a man made tradition or idea or some false god. We worship the God of the Jews, the LORD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. True worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in truth. God is Spirit and he is truth. We do not worship in ignorance and in form , but from the heart, the true God. He is the power and the glory, we worship him in his Spirit and in his truth. In truth we allow hjm to worship through us, obeying and yielding to his Spirit.

John 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
John 6:30 They said therefore unto him, What sign showest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
John 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
John 6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
John 6:34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Many follow Jesus only for food and treasures of this life. He warns us that we should be working for things that endure, the everlasting things. They asked what they should do to do the work of God. He responded: receive the Son of God. Receive his Grace; trust not in the works of the law. The law is holy, but sin must be paid for. Jesus is the way, the only way for our sins to be paid for. The sign of his authority is that he is the bread they seek: the bread of life from heaven, the living manna from God. He came to do the Father's will and all who come to him shall be saved; all that the Father gives to him. Salvation is of God, not our doing. We respond in faith, in truth, by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is eternal God, for although he died for our sins he is risen and he personally will raise us in the last days. Only God can raise the dead, Jesus is God the Son; the living bread sent from heaven. I am reminded that bread is broken, representing his body given for us and wine given in remembrance of his spilled blood, the atonement for our sins.

Jesus: I am from God, God the Son

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Jesus is the light, as God the Father is light. He is the light of truth, not a fallen light, as lucifer, who is the false light of the world. Remember that Jesus is the true light as he is the truth of God.

John 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

We are from the earth, Jesus came from God above; we are of this world; Jesus is not of this world. We are of Adam, fallen in sins. Jesus is from heaven, having no sin. Jesus is the second Adam and those who believe in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. If you do not come to him you will die in your sins, eternally separated from God.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

I AM: the name of God, Jesus the I AM, was before Abraham. For he was with God before the creation of the worlds and he created the worlds with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

John 13:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
John 13:21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
John 13:22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
John 13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
John 13:24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
John 13:25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?John 13:26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
John 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
John 13:28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
John 13:29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
John 13:30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.
John 13:31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
John 13:32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.
John 13:33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Jesus is with anyone that he sends as his witness. If they do not receive the witness they do not receive him. If they receive the witness, Jesus receives them with the Father who sent him. If we remember this, we will not feel personal misgivings, but will instead be intercessors in prayer, as the Spirit directs us to pray. One at the table of the last supper would betray him and this upset him. Many prefer the darkness and refuse or betray the Christ by actively working against him. This upsets Jesus as it does us, his witnesses. He came to die for our sins, so this was the time for him to be glorified. Think of the beatings and torture and shame he took on our behalf. He was glorified even through this most painful time, because he fulfilled his Father's purpose.

This verse needs looking into

John 13:32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him

God is glorified in Jesus and Jesus shall be glorified in God, and shall straitway glorify him.

Supporting verses

John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Let's take this personally. If Jesus is glorified in us, we shall be glorified in him and in the father. This is shown to us:

John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

What have we learned?

Jesus is God the Son from heaven and we are to witness of him, for he is the truth and the way to God the father.

God is a Spirit and must be worshipped in Spirit and truth.

Jesus is the bread of life from the Father in heaven. He is the way to everlasting life.

Jesus is the light of the world; he is the eternal Word of God from heaven.

Jesus obeyed the Father and was glorified, the father in him and he in the father. When we come to Jesus we are found in him and in the father, receiving everlasting light.

God is much more than what is covered here. From John, It is clear that Jesus is God the Son, sent to bring a people to the Father and he will come for us. He is our Savior.

The LORD Sees - Isaiah 59

Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

Many people are in need of the LORD, going through difficult times and yet they are not sure that he hears their needs. Distractions come, thoughts bring people to the past, or a sense of being alone with their problems. The LORD knows, he wants to save you; he hears but something is in the way. He sees the sins of the people.

Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Isa 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

The LORD is speaking to His people in Judah. Their iniquities have separated them from their LORD. They wanted to sin and do evil and had thoughts to continue in this way. They were not innocent; they shed innocent blood, like David when he had Uriah killed, the husband of Bathsheba. I am thinking that when we speak evil to destroy another person, we are killing them spiritually. Such evils as envy and jealousy, can destroy . The high priests and elders had innocent Jesus killed, for envy.

Mat 27:18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

Iniquity, lies, evil words; these are the fruit of unrighteousness. Isaiah continues to speak of their evil ways. All were guilty, none were righteous.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Isa 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

These were all evil. What is the opposite of these things? The righteous in Christ Jesus Love justice and truth; they trust in God, they speak the truth, goodness, and bring forth good works.

Isa 59:5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
Isa 59:6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
Isa 59:7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

They are lost in sin. I can only imagine that our own nation, whose leaders have officially denied Jesus Christ; the result will be to fall into the description here spoken of. A cockatrice is a poisonous snake. Satan is described as a snake and his works are described above. The end result of this is death and destruction. The fruit of evil only brings forth more evil and destruction.

Isa 59:8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

The result is that they have no peace, their path is crooked: they cannot find peace in all that they do and the way they go.

Isa 59:9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
Isa 59:10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
Isa 59:11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

They are lost in their sins, unable to find anything good. Sin has separated them from God's help.

Isa 59:12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
Isa 59:13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
Isa 59:14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
Isa 59:15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
Isa 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

The LORD saw that there was no man as intercessor. The lost need an intercessor, for they cannot help themselves.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Our own land needs intercessors. We are the intercessors. If not, the LORD must judge.

Ezek 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
Ezek 22:31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

The LORD saw that the lost of Israel needed an intercessor, so he would be the intercessor, through his Son, his arm, brought salvation to them and his righteousness sustained them. God supplied the needed truth, justice, and righteousness that they could not find on their own.

Isa 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

The Lord put on the spiritual weapons, showing us that he wore them first as he tells us to put them on in Ephesians 6:13-18.

Vengeance is not for us to do, but it is of the LORD. Why? Because we are guilty of sin, but are forgiven. We are to forgive as we were forgiven.

Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

The church is often described as apathetic, lacking zeal. The Lord was clad with zeal, as a cloak.

Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isa 59:18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense.
Isa 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

The Spirit convicts of sin. When Jesus came he gave us the power of the Holy Spirit, with his convicting power.

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
John 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

When Jesus reigns he will destroy the enemies of God.

Isa 59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.

The goel - sometimes translated kinsman-redeemer, here simply as Redeemer - had a specifically defined role in Israel's family life. The kinsman-redeemer was responsible to buy a fellow Israelite out of slavery (Leviticus 25:48). He was responsible to be the "avenger of blood" to make sure the murderer of a family member answered to the crime (Numbers 35:19). He was responsible to buy back family land that had been forfeited (Leviticus 25:25). And he was responsible to carry on the family name by marrying a childless widow (Deuteronomy 25:5-10). In these, we see that the goel, the kinsman-redeemer, was responsible to safeguard the persons, the property, and the posterity of the family. (Guzik)

Isa 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Those in Christ Jesus receive the everlasting Holy Spirit. The Spirit testifies of Jesus and the word of God. He is eternally with us and is our connection to our Holy God.

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

The Fast - Isaiah 58

This is a powerful word from the LORD and needs little explanation. Hear what the LORD is saying about fasting.

Isa 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

Speak this message like a trumpet, so the people will pay attention. Show my people their transgressions and sins. They need to be aware that I am not happy with their sins.

Isa 58:2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
Isa 58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

They approach me as if their sins were not in the way. They inquire of me, yet do not put away their sins or do my will. They accuse God of not hearing or responding when they fast. They fast for pleasure, to be seen of men.

Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Mat 6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mat 6:17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
Mat 6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

Isa 58:4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

They fast as religious form and not from the heart. As with most who are proud; the have strife and debate, for they think that they know it all.

2 Tim 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2 Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The LORD speaks a command; you shall not fast as you have been doing. We had better listen to what the LORD is saying.

Isa 58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

This appears to be a good thing, for the LORD does lift up the humble and he hears them. Perhaps this was more for show and not in sincerity? They were full of iniquity and sin and were doing their own pleasure. He required something from them, a change of behavior, to do his will. What is his will? He shows them his will for them.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Isa 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Loose the bands of wickedness, undo heavy burdens. They were imposing spiritual bondage on others and not trying to help those in need.

Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
Mat 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men:...

Let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke. This was the work that Jesus fulfilled when he came to show us how to live a life in obedience to the LORD.

Luke 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luke 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke 4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
Luke 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Isa 58:7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

We will be judged on whether we have done this or not.

Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mat 25:35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Mat 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Mat 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
Mat 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Mat 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Will we be on his right hand? or his left hand, with the goats? It makes you want to do something doesn't it?

Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

Wow, abundance of all good things will be ours, when we fear the LORD and do his will from a pure heart..

Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

God will here us when we fast if we do his will. Remove the spiritual oppression, the accusing and finger pointing, and the vain self centered speaking;

Isa 58:10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:

Meet the needs of the hungry; speak the word of God and feed them if they lack food. Let your light shine.

Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Isa 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Isa 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

We must do his will his way. No more playing church, having fun in the house of the Lord to satisfy our sinful flesh, or the other extreme of putting others under spiritual bondage. Get serious, seek his will and do his will. Feed the sheep the word of truth, and not just empty stories about our self. Speak his words, not our own, delight in the LORD, glorify him and honor him. Magnify Jesus, the cross and his blood shed for sins.

Isa 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Psa 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psa 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psa 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psa 37:6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
Psa 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Psa 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
Psa 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Delight thyself in the LORD, not our own pleasure and he will lift us up beyond anything we could do or experience ourselves. LORD, may we hear and obey your commands. Amen
