A shadow

The Old Covenant has types and shadows of the New Covenant. A bridge shadow I see as a shadow of a reality; the bridge. The bridge  could  be used as a symbol for Jesus Christ. He is the Bridge making the way for us to go to God the Father. He is the way through faith in his finished work. Our lives are but shadows and smoke. The reality is to be reconciled to God, to have found eternal life with our creator by believing in Jesus his son.

Col 2:13  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Heb 8:3  For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
Heb 8:4  For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
Heb 8:5  Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
Heb 8:6  But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Heb 8:7  For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Heb 8:8  For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9  Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Heb 8:10  For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

The First Covenant, the law was holy, but we were imperfect. It took a perfect man to perfectly keep the old covenant of the law. Messiah Jesus Christ is the perfect man who kept the law and through his spilled blood a New Covenant was made for us giving us grace by faith in him. The forgiveness of sins and eternal life as adopted children of God came not by keeping laws, but by faith in the Messiah. Now the laws are written in the hearts of those who believe in him.
