Hands, eyes and feet for Jesus

Mark 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Mark 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Offenses are serious business, our responsibility is to avoid offenses and as mature believers to forgive and not be easily offended. The hand does the work of the mind, the work of Christ, or the fulfilling of the lusts of the flesh. Cut it off? Yes, If it offends, for if it keeps you from trusting fully in Jesus Christ, the wrath of God abides on you and that leading to hell. Am I one of those unloving fire and brimstone preachers? Are you one who ignores the hard words of God? The message is from God the Father, through his Son. Hear Jesus; we are judged by our behavior. Are you trusting in Jesus? if so your life should show it.

Mark 9:45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Mark 9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Now he speaks of the foot offending. The foot could be shod with the gospel of peace.

Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Or the feet could be quick to run, into trouble.

Prov 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Prov 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Prov 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
Prov 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Our land is full of people who do these things. They are an abomination to God. These things do not belong among the saved in Christ. Yes, we are saved by faith, not of works (Eph. 2:8,9) Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. What comes out of our life shows who we serve.

Mark 9:47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
Mark 9:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Hell is a real place of torment and judgment. I believe that the Bible is clear that hell will be thrown into the lake of fire; a place of eternal torment.

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Denominations put their own spin on hell. If the dead only die with no memory, why fear that? I see it as a place of punishment to be avoided, a place of conscious memories. A place eternally separated from God and godliness. What we choose now will determine our eternity.

Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Luke 11:35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

Your eyes and ears feed your soul. What is taken in often comes out through our words and actions.

1 Cor 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1 Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Cor 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We are tempted through the flesh and thoughts that come into our mind. A person can be loved and have great power in the world, but if these things are not in submission to God, they may be the children of wrath. If we say that we are saved by faith then we must live by faith in the word of God. We must Submit all to Jesus, for our new life is in His Spirit and through faith. All things are possible if we trust in God. We do not walk in feelings or fear. We must do the right things, the things of God through faith. Stand up you soldier of the cross, you are needed by others. Show others who you obey. Let's not be half-hearted or double-minded people. Together we are the mighty army of God, in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
