Where did Cain get a wife?

 

Gen 4:16  And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
Gen 4:17  And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

If Cain and Abel were the first humans, where did their wives come from? Apparently they had sisters too. It does not say how old Cain and Abel were when Cain killed Abel. They both could have been married to sisters and because of the long age of 900 years or so that Adam and Eve lived, there could have been a large population. Theories of other people not from Adam and Eve are not based on truth. The Bible says that all are descendents of Adam and Eve.

 

Gen 3:20  And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

Gen 5:4  And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

Apparently Cain and Abel married sisters. Women were generally not mentioned in genealogies. At first brothers married sisters. They were to be fruitful and multiply.

 

Gen 1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Through Adam and Eve all were born with a sin nature.

 

Rom 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

 

God sent his Son to break the curse of Adam with his own shed blood. Jesus is the last Adam who restores mankind to a right relationship to God our father.

 

1Co 15:45  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1Co 15:49  And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

In conclusion Cain was married to a sister. They lived long lives and one estimate was that in 900 years there may have been millions of humans born. We are not to question God's word even if all the world rejects it; it is still true.
