The Sin of Jeroboam

2 Ki 17:22  For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
2 Ki 17:23  Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

 

1 Ki 14:16  And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.

 

Israel would have many kings, some were good and many were bad, but God always mentioned that they had failed to remove the sins of Jeroboam. What were the sins of Jeroboam? It was the replacing of the worship of God in Jerusalem to the idolatry in Bethel and Dan, where they worshiped the golden calves.

 

2 Ki 10:29  Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.

 

Over and over again, each king was judged as failing because of the worship of the golden calves. The worship of the true God in the appointed place in the temple in Jerusalem was what God required of Israel and Judah. For political reasons the worship places were changed because Israel had divided from  Judah. So it was division that brought in false worship. Dividing the people and bringing in foreign gods, this brought destruction to Israel and it will destroy America. Removing the customs and laws that were based on the worship of the God of Israel in the name of change. Our golden calves of tolerance, that is intolerant of Christians. The New age religions which were the religions of the pagan nations of old. The worship of Molech by sacrificing our children by abortions. The breakdown of the family by promoting ungodly unions that are forbidden in God's word. Making the following of God's word a hate crime. These are some of the golden calves that will destroy the nations. God will not bless a nation that turns away from him. What began in division will become a new world order that will be ruled by a man that is controlled by satan. These things must come before Jesus returns to remove the evil and to establish his kingdom of righteousness and truth. The Millennial kingdom will come and God has told us so in his Holy word, the Bible. Stay faithful to Jesus and speak the truth in love. God is still gathering a people unto himself.
