Light

Mark 4:21 Then Jesus asked them, "Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed to shut out the light? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine.
Mark 4:22 "Everything that is now hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light.
Mark 4:23 Anyone who is willing to hear should listen and understand!
Mark 4:24 And be sure to pay attention to what you hear. The more you do this, the more you will understand -- and even more, besides.
Mark 4:25 To those who are open to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But to those who are not listening, even what they have will be taken away from them. (NLT)

I like the way this translation reads. The light is Jesus and his word. He is to be heard and not ignored. When the word is spoken , do you hear it? When the Bible messages are sent to you, do you read them? We are to be active in the kingdom of light. If not the darkness may overcome us. Listen, everything that is hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light. Ask God for wisdom and understanding. Interpret the Bible with the Bible. It is all there for you to understand. The more you seek the word of truth, the more you will find truth and understanding.

Mark 4:25 To those who are open to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But to those who are not listening, even what they have will be taken away from them.

It grieves us when we hear of someone who once was with us, but who was not a good hearer of the word, that he has left the faith and is overcome by darkness. The light needs to be on, to show us how to be victorious in a time when darkness covers the land. We are overcomers in the kingdom of light. Keep hearing the word, keep reading and applying the truth to your life.
