Fish for People

Mark 1:16 One day as Jesus was walking along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother, Andrew, fishing with a net, for they were commercial fishermen.

Mark 1:17 Jesus called out to them, "Come, be my disciples, and I will show you how to fish for people!"

Mark 1:18 And they left their nets at once and went with him. (NLT)

The church has seminars, special Bible studies and groups to teach how to "fish for people". But, there are few who actually go out and reach people for Jesus. Jesus taught by example, so our lives must first be an example. Do not think that you cannot share Jesus, you can, just look for opportunities, someone needs what you have to say. Ask God for boldness. Paul asked for prayer that he would speak boldly. The Holy Spirit gives you boldness so pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Let us pray for each other that we may reach others for Christ. We are not perfect, but he is and people need to be saved. Let their need for Jesus penetrate your heart of compassion. Jesus is the way to God, so share John 3:16 and your personal testimony. Ask them; Is there any sin that he will not forgive? Give them the assurance that Jesus loves them and will forgive them and accept them as eternal children of God.
