Forgive Trespasses

Mat 18:33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
Mat 18:34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
Mat 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

In the parable one servant was forgiven much and then the servant who was forgiven much had no compassion or forgiveness for a fellowservant.

Mat 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Mat 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

We are to give to others what ourselves have received from the Lord. We are to forgive them and we are to seek reconciliation for offenses. We are not to Lord it over a brother, but we are to offer him the grace that we have received.

Note the punishment given in the parable of the unforgiving servant. He was delivered to the tormenters until he paid back what was due him. I believe that in the spiritual, if we are unforgiving and not seeking reconciliation and restoration, that we could be delivered to satan and his tormenting spirits as a means of chastisement. We would not be at peace, we would be fearful, self centered, unable to sleep and crying out, "why is this happening to me". Let go of unforgiveness and be reconciled, especially be reconciled to God.

Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Forgive your fellow servants in Christ. We are to be blameless children of God in a world that needs a good example. Show them Jesus Christ working through acts of kindness and grace.
