Respect our warriors

Rom 13:7  Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

2 Sam 19:1  And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
2 Sam 19:2  And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.
2 Sam 19:3  And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.
2 Sam 19:4  But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!
2 Sam 19:5  And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;
2 Sam 19:6  In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.
2 Sam 19:7  Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.
2 Sam 19:8  Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.

David was the leader that his warriors fought and died for, but his heart was grieving over the loss of Absalom his son. Joab had to set him straight. His tears for the enemy were inappropriate.  A leader must show support for his warriors. Those who put their lives in danger for their country should be honored and respected. Often those who fight are betrayed by the leader who seems to care more for the enemy. If we support a friendly nation, then we should not send arms to their enemy. There are so many things that are not right. To be a leader you must do what is right. Many leaders of our nation have no truth anymore, it is all some alien idealogy in control. The truth is, there are spirits controlling the leaders, a good Holy Spirit, or a destructive demonic spirit. Oh, how we need leaders after God's own heart. David was after God's own heart and he could be corrected when he was wrong.

Respect the anointing

Doeg, the Edomite who killed the priests of God at Saul's bidding, despised the anointing of God. David had great respect for the anointing of the LORD, even the anointing of king Saul that lost the Holy spirit, yet was still the anointed king. Do we respect the anointed of the LORD?

Lev 8:10  And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them.
Lev 8:11  And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all his vessels, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them.
Lev 8:12  And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

The Holy people of God have reverence for what is Holy. Saul lost the reverence for what is holy and for many years tried to kill David, the chosen anointed king that would be the next king, but David respected Saul, the anointed king.

1 Sam 24:1 After Saul returned from fighting the Philistines, he was told that David had gone into the wilderness of En-gedi.
2 So Saul chose three thousand special troops from throughout Israel and went to search for David and his men near the rocks of the wild goats.
3 At the place where the road passes some sheepfolds, Saul went into a cave to relieve himself. But as it happened, David and his men were hiding in that very cave!
4 "Now's your opportunity!" David's men whispered to him. "Today is the day the LORD was talking about when he said, 'I will certainly put Saul into your power, to do with as you wish.'" Then David crept forward and cut off a piece of Saul's robe.
5 But then David's conscience began bothering him because he had cut Saul's robe.
6 "The LORD knows I shouldn't have done it," he said to his men. "It is a serious thing to attack the LORD's anointed one, for the LORD himself has chosen him." (NLT)

David could have killed Saul that day and cut off a piece of his robe to prove that he was near enough to kill him, but his heart was troubled after he cut off a piece of the robe of the anointed king. This reminds me of the respect John the Baptist had for the anointed one; Jesus the Lamb of God, the Holy one of God.

John 1:26  ... I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
John 1:27  He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

There is the spirit of antichrist today that seeks to destroy the holy anointed things of God. Doeg the Edomite was an example of this antichrist spirit. We are to respect the anointing of God in his people, his institutions, like marriage between one man and one woman. The antichrist spirit seeks to destroy the sacred, the holiness of the God of Israel, the true almighty God.

2 Pet 2:9  The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
2 Pet 2:10  But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

2 Cor 6:14  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2 Cor 6:15  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2 Cor 6:16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2 Cor 6:17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2 Cor 6:18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Acts 10:37  That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
Acts 10:38  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Acts 10:39  And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
Acts 10:40  Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly;
Acts 10:41  Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
Acts 10:42  And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

The holy people of God respect the holy things of God. Love your brethren and do not speak against the anointed of God. Respect the presence of the Holy Spirit and those who are the temples of his Spirit. Worship the Holy God of Israel and Jesus Christ his Son. Exalt the LORD!
