Losing It

From time to time I have dreams about my former profession as a wedding photographer. The dream has me forgetting the film, the cameras or some other inability to fulfill the duty of capturing an important event for those who had trusted me. Last night again I had a dream where I had two weddings together. I have photographed double weddings before and it was always a balancing of being sure that each bride was given the proper coverage of wedding photos. In this dream I had gone from a double wedding to another wedding and had trusted others to bring my cameras and equipment. When I arrived at the wedding I had nothing to photograph the bride; no cameras no flash, no batteries, no film or digital memory cards. All the work at the earlier weddings was gone and I had nothing to complete the task at hand. I asked around to some of the guests to borrow a camera, but all refused. Somehow Donald Trump was in the dream we were walking along, he had his arm around me as a friend. I asked him if he new Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He acted as if he did, but he did not same committed, he was my buddy, but he was also trusting in his great riches. In all my years as a wedding photographer, God was with me and I never failed in photographing the event. I trusted Jesus to be with me in my business and he never let me down. In the dream, knowing Donald Trump as my friend may have been a way out financially, but failing to accomplish my work was most important to me. I did not want to fail the bride and groom on their wedding day.

I am no longer a wedding photographer with the responsibility of pleasing the bride; the wedding is all about the bride. It is her most important event. With my wife in a rehab facility, I have been busy fixing things that needed to be fixed. A leaky roof, picking up nuts, caring for the property. Someone else is caring for my wife in the rehab place, but I did not mind helping her her at home. The goal is for her to be strengthened so that she can help herself as much as possible. The Lord is our strength, but we are to do our best in preparation for anything that we are to do. The apostle Paul knew what it was to trust in the Lord through all sorts of problems and afflictions.

2Co 12:9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2Co 12:10  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

The dreams may bring fear or dread, because of failure, but in reality we are to be awake and trusting in God to see us through every circumstance. Too many are falling away, taking their attention away from the Lord and trusting in others who cannot help them spiritually.

Gal 3:3  Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Gal 3:4  Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
Gal 3:5  He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Gal 3:6  Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

We are not to go it alone. God is with us if we are in Christ, he never leaves us. He gives us more grace as we need it. I want you my LORD and my God to be utmost in my life. Guide me Lord Jesus and I will hold onto your hand as I go through the final time left to be your witness. You have given me the breath of life and the breath of the Holy Spirit to be with me in you forever. Help me Lord to trust in you and to trust in faithful friends who have the same desire to love you and one another.

1Co 13:8  Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1Co 13:11  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1Co 13:12  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1Co 13:13  And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Power and Responsibilty

John 20:19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. 21 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." (NIV)

Jesus risen from the grave showed himself to his disciples. Peace be with you! His disciples were to be sent to do the work of Jesus. He breathed on them and said "receive the Holy Ghost" to do my calling. They were sent to forgive sins or to retain them. They were to share the gospel that in Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection, there is the forgiveness of sins. Upon receiving this revelation their sins are forgiven. If they refuse the gospel message, their sins remain.

John 5:25  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
John 5:26  For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
John 5:27  And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

As Jesus has life in himself, he has given this life to us through the Holy Ghost. The power of life and death are in the confession of the tongue. We must be obedient to the calling given by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pro 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue...

Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Give out the word of life to a lost and sinful people. Aside from Jesus, we too would perish in our sins, but now we have  eternal life. Let this light shine to bring others to saving faith. The simple message is that Jesus saves us from our sins and the punishment for sin in hell. The Father and Jesus the Son want you to be with them forever. We were created in the image of God to be one with Him.

John 17:21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
