Our Greatest Honor

Gal 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

Under bondage to natural laws; we learn to eat and drink, to sleep to wake, but there is more to life then that. We learn what others expect of us, but often they may teach us wrong. We observe laws and rules given to us. What is the right way? The right way is God's way.

Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

God sent forth His Son to guide us into all truth; born of a woman, subject to the law of Moses.

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isa 7:15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

He received nourishment for the body and his soul. He was given the law to understand and to keep until he would give himself a substitute sacrifice for our sins. Having no sin, He kept the law of Moses; he became our salvation on the cross at Calvary.

Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

We were bought with the greatest price. God himself came to us in His Son Jesus; shed his blood and died for our sins. He arose to declare to all men that he is Lord. Jesus became the firstborn of a new creation.

1 Cor 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

What is the greatest thing we are given; the greatest honor?
The greatest honor is to be called a son of the most high God. What is the proof? It is His Holy Spirit that resides in us.

1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

The Holy Spirit has given us the honor of being adopted sons of God through faith in His Son., Jesus.
We may call the Most High God, the Father of Jesus, Our Father.

Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

We may call the Father of Jesus, OUR FATHER. We are brothers and sisters together WITH JESUS! How great an honor is this? We are not servant slaves, but heirs of the glory of God with Jesus our redeemer. Jesus sets at the right hand of the Father. We may come to him now.

Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Let us now walk as sons and daughters of the MOST HIGH GOD.

LORD we thank you for redeeming our souls and making us alive in your spirit. We are no longer to serve the sinful lusts of this life, but we have a higher purpose and a higher calling in Jesus Christ. You call us sons and by your grace we will behave as sons of you Father, to bring you all the honor and glory. In Jesus' name, amen.
