Pro 3:27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is
due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
How do we know those who are due to receive good? I think of
Jesus who did good to all who came to him. So he was aware of needs in the
people around him. He even traveled through Samaria to meet an immoral woman at
the well in the heat of the day. Jesus loved sinners and wanted them to receive
his good message of life and healing in his name. Whatever we do in the name of
Jesus will be awarded.
Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and
he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 10:40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Mat 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
Mat 10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
It is reward enough to see the smile on the face of one who
has received good. Some may be changed, some may bless the Lord, and some may
take the blessing and waste it on drugs or strong drink. We are to do good in an
evil and twisted world. Good is stronger than evil. Remember the golden
rule?
Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would
that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the
prophets.
