Removing the Veil

2Co 3:12  Since we have such a hope, we are very bold,
2Co 3:13  not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end.
2Co 3:14  But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.
2Co 3:15  Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts.
2Co 3:16  But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.
2Co 3:17  Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2Co 3:18  And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

The law of Moses is for hardened hearts and minds and even as the law was brought down to them by Moses they could not look upon his face. His countenance was changed having been with the Lord, so that they were afraid lest he put a veil over his face. It was the people who feared to go up into the presence of the Lord on Mount Sinai; they sent Moses who was their chosen deliverer. The law is good but it cannot save you. We must come to Jesus our Lord and deliverer, from sin and death, to be changed. A new heart, a new countenance, a new hope of glory. In Jesus the veil is removed by the Spirit of truth and we are become a free people. This new freedom comes with the New Covenant. The hope of all nations is Jesus Christ. In him is freedom and peace. Bring back the Ten Commandments as a guide to a sin hardened people. The law is to teach us that salvation comes by faith in the law giver, the creator, the Son of God. He is calling forth his people.
