Which Way?

Prov 20:24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

Prov 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

I remember in college being told that we are "self actualized", one teacher said that we are to be self actualized loving individuals. In one Christian ministry on the radio the popular buzz word is to be intentional. Well then, "self" had better be following the will and direction of the LORD. This should be our "intent". We are to seek the LORD's direction and purpose in all that we do. We are not to go our own way, ignoring the plan of God for our life.

James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
James 4:15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

If the Lord will, he is given the place of master over our lives. We are actually his bond slaves, who were bought by him.

1 Cor 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
1 Cor 7:24 Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

Abide with God where you were called. Were you called
to be a business person? a housewife? an artist or craftsman? Therein abide with God. Not all are called to be missionaries or pastors.

Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Prov 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Prov 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

This is good advice for it is God's word. We are to walk according to the will and purpose of God We are not to walk by our own thinking and sight, but by the direction of the Lord, by faith. If we acknowledge God in all our ways, then he shall direct our paths.
