Carr fire affects

My daughter and I were returning from an overnight ocean trip and were in the town of Weaverville, 44 miles from home when we first heard about the Carr fire. Hwy 299 was closed, so we stayed the night in Weaverville in an old Victorian Inn. The next morning we took a twisting mountain road, hwy 3 and 36 that took us south to Red Bluff. For many the fire is an inconvenience, but for thousands more it was losing almost everything. The fire raged on with tornadoes of fire reaching 140 mph coming within 10 miles of our home. Over a thousand homes were burned up. Twenty-two  families in our church lost their homes. Our pastor set up some beds in our fellowship hall. The Church bathrooms had seldom used showers for the guests use. Our Sunday school teachers came to class with their dog. They did not want to leave him at home with the fire coming that way. Two people that are musician friends in groups that I play with had homes in places where many were burned up, but their homes were spared.  Our outdoor summer concerts at the park have been cancelled due to the unhealthy air from the fires. My family was inconvenienced by the fire but all were affected by it, some are still in bewilderment. The fire still burns to the east and is 50% contained. I made a poster of the picture above for my store window. The firefighters and those who lost homes and loved ones in the fires need our prayers. Lord, we ask for the fires to be put out. Send the rain and may many trust in God and Jesus for their needs for now and for all eternity. Amen
