2Co 6:1 Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.
2Co 6:2 For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2Co 6:3 We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,
2Co 6:4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, ...
Things happen to slow you down, to discourage and to convict you. In this world there is a war; the devil seeks to destroy you but the Spirit of God points to Jesus and your eternal salvation. Once saved, I believe that he continues with you even through difficult times when you may feel that all is looking bad. He is good and God loves us through his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Hold onto him and fellowship with Him. As the hymn says,
"What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms."
My dear ministry friend, Dorothy, sent me two large custom made coffee cups celebrating the founding of our Eaglewings Ministries. On the cup was this verse:
Heb 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
On the cup in large letters was written "KEEP GOING". I see this as a useful motto for all who trust in Jesus as our savior. KEEP GOING, for he is drawing you to him now and forever more. My ministry friend has grown older and is no longer online. Other friends have gone on to be with the Lord. We remain and we are to remain faithful.
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
