1Co 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
1Co 14:24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
1Co 14:25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

There is a lot of controversy between denominations concerning the use of tongues in Church. I believe that the Holy Spirit should be allowed to move as he wishes, however every person has control of his tongue. Speaking prophecy or the Word is to edify the church body.
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Save unknown tongues for private prayer as they are often an embarrassment to a visitor. An interpreter is obligated following the unknown tongue to speak to keep things in order; It is a word from the Holy Spirit, yet I would prefer hearing the prophecy direct. Let the prophet speak or the preacher speak the message of God. A seeker doesn't want to hear gibberish, but to understand the message of God. My opinion and may God have his way in the church.
