NEW COVENANT

Jer 31:31  “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,

Luk 22:19  And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

Luk 22:20  And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

2Co 3:4  Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.

2Co 3:5  Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God,
2Co 3:6  who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
2Co 3:7  Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end,
2Co 3:8  will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory?

Heb 9:13  For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh,

Heb 9:14  how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
Heb 9:15  Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

1Co 15:20  But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
1Co 15:21  For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.
1Co 15:22  For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23  But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.
1Co 15:24  Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.
1Co 15:25  For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26  The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

True Riches

Php 4:8  Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

I have been looking at past episodes of the TV program, "Surviver." People compete through various games of strength and prowess to win a million dollars. They will break promises and lie and do everything contrary to what God would have us to be like in order to win the money.  It is the devil's game of ruthless cunning to win the prize of a million dollars. Kindness is looked upon as weakness.  Learning to endure hardships is a positive thing from the game and making friends is a worthy endeaver but like so many seeking to be rich, they damage their soul in the process.

The verse above is for those walking with the Lord and these are true riches from our God.  Jesus has all the good virtues listed above and these are to help us be like him. Seek the true riches and avoid the tricks of the devil to draw you away.

A Spiritual Lift

Php 4:4  Always be filled with joy in the Lord. I will say it again. Be filled with joy.
Php 4:5  Let everyone see that you are gentle and kind. The Lord is coming soon.
Php 4:6  Don't worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have.
Php 4:7  And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God's peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds.  (ERV)

Occasionally we can be feeling low, but these scriptures hold truths to lift us up again.

Always be filled with joy and joy is a fruit of the spirit available to all who have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. Hold onto your joy! Praise God for his many blessings.

Let everyone see you not as an offensive person, but be gentle and kind to everyone. The Lord is coming soon and you do not want to be in the way of others coming to him. As much as is possible be gentle and kind.

Don't worry about anything, Jesus knows your feelings and bring your needs to him and be thankful. Thank you Lord, you have me covered and have always blessed me. May I be a blessing to others.

If we belong to Jesus Christ, he has given us his peace, another fruit of the spirit.

John 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

God's peace will stand guard over all our thoughts and feelings. His spirit will discern what is from God.  Transform your mind and thoughts by reading the Bible. By his spirit through faith you will abide in truth and be in his perfect love. Love is what his fruit in you is all about. You are loved by God and your spiritual family. Share your love with others.

Alliances

Are you a Lone Ranger Christian?  Even the Lone Ranger had Tonto. Alliances; people coming together for a common cause. An alliance with the wrong people can drag you down. The best work for Jesus is by people coming together with the same vision and goals. A ministry team works together and they help one another. If one falls do to an illness or a setback, then another will fill in for him and help him recover. We are stronger together, for seldom are all unable to keep going.

Ecc 4:9  Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.
Ecc 4:10  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up.
Ecc 4:11  Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm alone?
Ecc 4:12  And if a man prevail against him that is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

The Way of Understanding

Pro 9:6  Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
Pro 9:7  He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
Pro 9:8  Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Pro 9:9  Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
Pro 9:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Pro 9:11  For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

Wisdom and understanding begins with the fear, the reverence of the LORD. Spiritual growth begins by receiving forgiveness and new life in Jesus and sharing this new life with others who seek God's truth. We should avoid the scorner and the foolish people, for they do not want understanding of what is good.   We are to increase in holiness as we are motivated by the love of God, love of his word, his creation and love for others who were created to be in his image. Be with those who are wise and share with those of the faith of God. More love to thee, my Lord.

LOVE COMPLETED

1Co 13:8  Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away.
1Co 13:9  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
1Co 13:10  but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away.
1Co 13:11  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things.
1Co 13:12  For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.
1Co 13:13  But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

We can know about God, in part. We know that Jesus shed his blood to remove our sins. We come to him for salvation. We read the Bible, the prophecies of things to come, but we do not know all there is to know. We have faith, hope and above all love. Love is most important. To be loved by God, to love him with all that we are and to love others.  Love continues and when we see Jesus face to face, we will be in the presence of perfect love and then we will know him as we are known. We will know fully what true eternal life is. Truth and love will be known in all fullness. LORD God, may we walk in truth and may our love increase.

Taking the form of a Servant

Php 2:6  who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Php 2:7  but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
Php 2:8  And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Php 2:9  Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
Php 2:10  so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Php 2:11  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus had the form of God, before coming as a human baby. He was with God the Father at creation. He is the Word who spoke all things into being.  Picture this before you picture Jesus as a man. It was great love and humility to come to us taking upon himself our likeness. By doing this his blood was given for our salvation. He gave us his Spirit so that we would become in his heavenly likeness.  I always have believed that no good thing, no new promotion of work can be done without God. We cannot save ourselves by our own efforts. Jesus saves and all will come to him. He gives life eternal to those who come to him in this life. At the judgement seat of God all will acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord. They will bow to him, but it is too late for them to be saved. They will be judged and condemned according to their works. No one can please God apart from Jesus. Come and bow to him now, asking for forgiveness and a new life. Salvation comes only to those who bow before him confessing their sins in this life.

Jesus I come to you believing that you died to remove my sins. I believe that you did this and ask you to forgive all my sins and to make me a child of God. I will serve you and ask help in learning about the things of God. Amen
