Taking the form of a Servant
Php 2:6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Php 2:7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
Php 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Php 2:9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
Php 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Php 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus had the form of God, before coming as a human baby. He was with God the Father at creation. He is the Word who spoke all things into being. Picture this before you picture Jesus as a man. It was great love and humility to come to us taking upon himself our likeness. By doing this his blood was given for our salvation. He gave us his Spirit so that we would become in his heavenly likeness. I always have believed that no good thing, no new promotion of work can be done without God. We cannot save ourselves by our own efforts. Jesus saves and all will come to him. He gives life eternal to those who come to him in this life. At the judgement seat of God all will acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord. They will bow to him, but it is too late for them to be saved. They will be judged and condemned according to their works. No one can please God apart from Jesus. Come and bow to him now, asking for forgiveness and a new life. Salvation comes only to those who bow before him confessing their sins in this life.
Jesus I come to you believing that you died to remove my sins. I believe that you did this and ask you to forgive all my sins and to make me a child of God. I will serve you and ask help in learning about the things of God. Amen
