Healed of an issue

Lev 15:25  And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.

 

Jesus healed a woman with a prolonged issue.

Mat 9:20  And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
Mat 9:21  For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
Mat 9:22  But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Jesus healed the woman with an issue of blood that continued for twelve years. She had been separated from her people, but Jesus was her healer. She touched the hem of his garment  having faith and she was healed. The hem of the garment may be called the "wings" of the garment. This brings light unto the prophecy of Malachi.

 

Mal 4:2  But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

By faith, reach out and touch Jesus for your healing.

Strange Fire

Lev 10:1  And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
Lev 10:2  And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
Lev 10:3  Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

You may ask why the LORD destroyed them by fire. Moses heard from God in verse 3, "I will be sanctified in them that come nigh".  The sons of Aaron were not respecting the LORD, nor were their hearts holy before him. What did they do wrong?

1. They were not supposed to be in the holy of holies, this was Aaron's duty.

2. Their hearts were not prepared, they just entered into his presence without regard to his commands.

3. Two went in to the holy sanctuary, and the LORD commanded that only one enter.

4. They brought in strange fire, not fire from the altar that was fired by the LORD.

From this story I see that we who worship the LORD should worship him in spirit and in truth with holy hearts. We are not to enter into his presence with strange doctrines or with disrespect. I pastor teacher should prepare his heart to speak the message of God, not his own thoughts. To speak foolish words is as the son's of Aaron, being disrespectful and doing their own thing. The work of God is from the LORD, not from our imaginations. Our hearts can be wicked and we must prepare ourselves to do his Holy work. Aaron's sons rushed in without seeking direction from the LORD.

Zec 4:6  ... Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

The Fire Of God

Lev 9:22  And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.
Lev 9:23  And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people.
Lev 9:24  And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

 

A fire from before the LORD came down and consumed the sacrifice and all the people shouted and fell on their faces. The people saw that this was a special visitation of the glory of the LORD. This happened again at the dedication of Solomon's temple.

 

2Ch 7:1  Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
2Ch 7:2  And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house.
2Ch 7:3  And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Again the fire of God fell to consume the sacrifice of Elijah.

 

1Ki 18:37  Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
1Ki 18:38  Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
1Ki 18:39  And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

 

The sacrifice of Jesus was a sweetsmelling savour to God the Father.

 

Eph 5:2  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

 

At Pentecost, the fire of God appeared on the heads of those gathered in prayer signifying the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. 

Act 2:1  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 

Act 2:2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 

Act 2:3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 

The Spirit filled disciples of Christ are the sweet savour of Christ in the world.

 

2Co 2:14  Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
2Co 2:15  For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
2Co 2:16  To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

May His presence be always found in us both before this world and in the world to come. In Christ Jesus we stand and in Him we place our trust. Our prayers are sweet smelling odours before the throne of God.

Rev 5:8  And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 

Fire of God fall fresh on your church.

The Poorest Offering

 

Lev 5:11  But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering.
Lev 5:12  Then shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, even a memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: it is a sin offering.
Lev 5:13  And the priest shall make an atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned in one of these, and it shall be forgiven him: and the remnant shall be the priest's, as a meat offering. 

Under the law, he that hath sinned and was very poor, shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering.

 

Exo 16:36  Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

 

An omer was as much a man can eat in one day. I was thinking about this and remembered how Cain was so angry that his vegetables were not accepted as an offering. I see God's grace in allowing fine flour to be given as a sin offering. Even the poorest of the poor should have flour. I am reminded of the poor widow and her son who gave of her last flour and oil to a hungry Elijah. From this simple act of faith God provided her with flour and oil until the drought was over.

1Ki 17:14  For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
1Ki 17:15  And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
1Ki 17:16  And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

Mat 6:11  Give us this day our daily bread.
Mat 6:12  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

 

We no longer must we offer a sin offering, because Jesus was our sin offering, however we should give to the needs of others. 

 

Mat 25:34  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mat 25:35  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Mat 25:36  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

We are the children of the King; can we give of the poorest offering?

Turtledoves

Lev 1:14  And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.

The turtledoves were a poor persons offering. When baby Jesus was brought to the temple for his circumcision according to the law, Mary offered two turtledoves. What happened to the gold given to them by the wisemen? They must have used it when they fled into Egypt to escape Herod. The LORD never promised to make us rich, but he will meet our needs. 

Luk 2:21  And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
Luk 2:22  And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;
Luk 2:23  (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)
Luk 2:24  And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

If the person was able, she was to bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering; and a young pigeon, or a turtle dove, for a sin offering; but in case of poverty, then the above sufficed, and one of them was for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering; which shows not only that the virgin offered for herself a sin offering, being ceremonially unclean, but also her mean estate and poverty, in that she offered the offering of the poorer sort; see Lev 12:6. Lev 12:6  And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:

Jesus was the Lamb of God that fulfilled all the requirements of the law.

His Presence

Exo 40:34  Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Exo 40:35  And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Exo 40:36  And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:
Exo 40:37  But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
Exo 40:38  For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

 

What an awesome sight, to see God as a cloud by day and fire by night. He led the people and his presence was in the tabernacle sanctuary. The expression, "do not put God in a box." May have originated from his presence in the ark of the covenant. He was there, but he also led the people. He also came upon certain people, as he did Moses and David. Now his presence is in the Christian, the holy place of God. Our bodies are his dwelling place with us. We are to be holy. The Holy Spirit with us is our comforter, God in us, our teacher and our guide.

 

1Co 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1Co 3:17  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

John 14:1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Jonh 14:3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 

We are not alone, he goes with us.

Stop Giving

Exo 36:6  And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. 

Exo 36:7  For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

The people enthusiastically  gave for the construction of the sanctuary to the extent that Moses had to command them to stop giving; now you don't hear that any more. The church buildings where I attend were paid for when they were built. There was no borrowing and putting the people in bondage to pay it off as is common today. A congregation should be enthusiastic for the LORD's work.

 

2Co 9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

 

Unfortunately there are some who use religion for personal gain.

 

2Pe 2:1  But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Pe 2:2  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
2Pe 2:3  And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Be wise in your giving.
