Diotrephes

3Jn 1:9  I have written something to the church, but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority.

3Jn 1:10  So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church.

3Jn 1:11  Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.

Diotrephes was a man who was included in the Bible as an example of  an evil man.  He wanted to be in authority and would not submit to the authority of the apostles. He even removed people from church who welcomed the true men of God.  I suppose in every place where there is authority there will be a challenge from evil.  This is why we need to acknowledge those of goodness and  good character. Catholics too have problems with their globalist Pope. We do not align our self with evil;  it is something to watch out for.  People who use their authority to cause division and strife are not of God. Are we helping the church to grow in the fellowship of Jesus Christ? Lord help us to not be a stumbling block to cause someone to fall away.
