Mar 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Mar 9:2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
Mar 9:3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
Mar 9:4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
Mar 9:5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Mar 9:6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
Mar 9:7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
Mar 9:8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
Mar 9:9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
Peter, James and John saw the kingdom of God on the mount with Jesus. Jesus was translated, changed, a bright light from within glowed. Beside Jesus were Moses and Elijah. How did they know who they were? In the kingdom we will know one another.
1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1Co 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Peter not knowing what to do, decided to build them each a tabernacle. A voice from heaven spoke "This is my beloved Son, hear him." Sometimes I think that we spend too much time and sometimes go in debt building new church buildings, when we should be listening to what Jesus has to say. Buildings mean little if Jesus does not dwell within the hearts of the builders. Man made religious things should not replace the hearing and doing of God's will. Hear Jesus, before you commit yourself to material things, first hear from the Lord, then you will not be doing things your way that have no eternal value. They saw the kingdom of God. The kingdom is where the king resides. Now the kingdom resides within those hearts where Jesus dwells in his Spirit. The Spiritual kingdom are the believers, the saints of God who will dwell with God forever. Jesus is Lord of the living. His eternal kingdom is inhabited by those who are born again of his Spirit.
Mar 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Mar 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living:...
Jesus who died on the cross in our place, has risen and he will receive all who trust in him into his eternal kingdom. Give God the glory!
