Six, the number of man. Six men came from the higher north
gate, each had a battle-ax in his hand. They had charge over the city, perhaps
as guards.They were going to kill the wicked. One other man among them, clothed
in linen (righteousness), a priestly garment, had an ink horn at his side. I believe he was the
Great High Priest. Jesus, the Son of God.
Lev 16:4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall
have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle,
and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore
shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.
One Savior and six destroyers who looked like men, but
probably were angels. One man had authority to judge and to save. Jesus has this
authority in the New Testament.
They stood by the brasen altar; the altar of burnt offerings.
The fire was to stay lit. This altar was designed and ordained of God for
sacrifices and peace offerings.
Lev 6:12 And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it;
it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and
lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of
the peace offerings.
Lev 6:13 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar;
it shall never go out.
Ahaz removed this altar to make room for a copy
of an altar seen in Damascus. A foreign altar next to a foreign god that was set
up in the Temple of God. That spirit is still around today, those who wish to tear down God and erect altars to themselves.
2Ki 16:11 And Urijah the priest built an altar according to
all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Urijah the priest made it against
king Ahaz came from Damascus.
2Ki 16:12 And when the king was come from
Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king approached to the altar, and
offered thereon.
2Ki 16:13 And he burnt his burnt offering and his meat
offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace
offerings, upon the altar.
2Ki 16:14 And he brought also the brasen altar,
which was before the LORD, from the forefront of the house, from between the
altar and the house of the LORD, and put it on the north side of the altar.
Eze 9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the
cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the
man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;
Eze 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the
city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the
men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst
thereof.
The Holy Spirit glory of the LORD, had left the place where the Ark was and
he spoke to the man with the inkhorn to mark certain men on the forehead. The
mark was the final letter of the Hebrew alphabet: an X, or a cross. Those
receiving the mark were those who cried out against all the abominations in the
city.
Lot was vexed with Sodom and Gomorrah and was delivered by angels.
2Pe 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to
hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
2Pe 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a
preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
2Pe 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned
them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should
live ungodly;
2Pe 2:7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy
conversation of the wicked:
2Pe 2:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them,
in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their
unlawful deeds;)
2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of
temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
2Pe 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of
uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are
not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
Those with the mark on their foreheads were saved. Those who have the seal
of the Holy Spirit are saved. Christians have the mark of God; the Holy Spirit.
2Co 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed
us, is God;
2Co 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the
Spirit in our hearts.
2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this
seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the
name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in
Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye
were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of
the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
In Revelation 144,000 Jewish virgin men will be sealed by a mark in their
forehead. The mark separated the saved from those about to receive the wrath of God.
Rev 7:2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of
the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it
was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth,
neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in
their foreheads.
Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were
sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children
of Israel.
It was the blood applied on the headboard and entry posts that prevented the
death angel from destroying the first born of Israel as they were getting ready
to leave Egypt. In the end times God will separate the sheep from the
goats.
Eze 9:5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after
him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
Eze 9:6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and
women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my
sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
Judgment began with the elders in the temple. They were to be the spiritual
guardians of the faith. Instead they were idolaters; character matters.
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:
and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the
gospel of God?
1Pe 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall
the ungodly and the sinner appear?
1Pe 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer
according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well
doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
If we are of God, we wear the Spiritual seal of God. If we are look alike tares, we will be gathered and tossed into the fire. Jesus is not a game but a savior. Hell is not a game, have you the mark of God?
