Gen 43:29 And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.
Gen 43:30 And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.
Joseph had been hated by his half brothers and sold into slavery as a young man. Now Joseph is reunited with his brothers and with Benjamin who was his full brother, both having been the Children of Jacob and Rachel. There was much emotion as Joseph cried in a secret place.
Many people have been hurt by family members and carry the hurts for years, perhaps silent tears in secret places, but so important is forgiveness. Joseph forgave his brothers who betrayed him, but to Benjamin he gave five times more food. We do favor those who are near to us who have never done us wrong. We also love those family members who may have offended us. Do not let un forgiveness from the past keep you from loving your family. When one dies, there is remorse and thoughts of how it may have been if we had more forgiveness in our hearts. Maybe with more showing of love, they would have been reconciled, especially do we want them reconciled to God. Tell those brothers and sisters who may be distant just how much you love them. Restore fellowship and maybe Jesus will restore their souls.
