The motto In God We Trust was placed on United States coins largely because of the increased religious sentiment existing during the American Civil War. Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase received many appeals from devout Christians throughout the country, urging that the United States recognize God on United States coins.
In God We Trust is the official national motto of the United States . The motto first appeared on a United States coin in 1864, but In God We Trust did not become the official U.S. national motto until after the passage of an Act of Congress in 1956
"In these days when imperialistic and materialistic Communism seeks to attack and destroy freedom, it is proper" to "remind all of us of this self-evident truth" that "as long as this country trusts in God, it will prevail."
We as individuals must choose who we will trust. If a majority of our nation turns from God, the nation is in Peril. Our nation has trusted in wealth and now we are in debt. Our nation has trusted in military might and now the enemy is within our borders. Can we trust and hope in a politician? We must vote the Bible and for the principles of God that make for true freedom and peace.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Jesus is my peace and I love His promises in the Holy Bible. Peace comes by sacrifice. Jesus gave his life on the cross to secure our peace. He gave us the gentle dove of the Holy Spirit to assure our peace, "not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Is your heart troubled about events in our nation? Come to the peace of Jesus .
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
The world and our nation are headed for trouble, but we who are disciples of Jesus Christ, are headed for our eternal peace as sons of the Most High God. Our citizenship is in heaven, yet while we are here as citizens of this nation, we have responsibilities given to us from God.
The pledge of allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Under God, we are to keep our pledges and oaths. Many of our loved ones have fought to preserve our freedoms and some have given their lives to secure our nations peace.
Our Constitution is to protect our rights. If we vote for a politician he should uphold the Constitution of the United States and not seek to change it. The first amendment is under attack by the liberal left; ACLU, Planned parenthood, and liberal judges and liberal poiticians. Terrorists have vowed to destroy our nation also; we certainly need God's protection.
1. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Most of the press is liberal, seeking to change America and our Constitution. The political liberals in our nation seek to keep the Bible, God, Jesus and the morals and goodness of the Bible from our schools and our public life. One amendment they seek to add to the Constitution would remove the Freedom of the press; called the fairness doctrine, restricting the access to conservative radio talk shows that speak for our nations traditional values. The enemy is within, seeking to change our Christian society and Biblical morals, and turning the laws upside down, promoting sin and calling the Bible hate language.
Woes
Isa 5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!
Isa 5:9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
Isa 5:11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
Isa 5:12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.
Isa 5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
Isa 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isa 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
Isa 5:22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
Isa 5:23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
Isa 5:24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Rev 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
Rev 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
Rev 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
We are not to trust in the promises and schemes of men, but the whole counsel of the LORD. We want to be faithful to our Lord.
Mat 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
We are to be faithful ambassadors of our Lord. Can we pray for our nation and the freedoms established in our Constitution?
2 Chr 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Father, we come to you seeking your hand upon our nation. We ask for mercy and grace, nevertheless, we want your will to be done. You know what you desire. We desire peace in our nation and your protection. We desire to worship you as our true sovereign King and trust you only with our lives. We hold onto your promises, ask for victory and receive your peace. In Jesus' name, amen
