Stop Giving

Exo 36:6  And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
Exo 36:7  For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

The people enthusiastically  gave for the construction of the sanctuary to the extent that Moses had to command them to stop giving; now you don't hear that any more. The church buildings where I attend were paid for when they were built. There was no borrowing and putting the people in bondage to pay it off as is common today. A congregation should be enthusiastic for the LORD's work.

2Co 9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Unfortunately there are some who use religion for personal gain.

2Pe 2:1  But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Pe 2:2  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
2Pe 2:3  And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Be wise in your giving.

Aaron's Sin

Exo 32:1  And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
Exo 32:2  And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
Exo 32:3  And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
Exo 32:4  And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
Exo 32:5  And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.

Moses came down from the mountain and dealt with the people's god.

Exo 32:20  And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.
Exo 32:21  And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?
Exo 32:22  And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.
Exo 32:23  For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
Exo 32:24  And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.
Exo 32:25  And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
Exo 32:26  Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

Aaron probably repented with the Levites.
I see that Aaron the High Priest was a sinner and a people pleaser. He was to be the mouth piece for Moses. What would have become of Israel without Moses? Aaron reminds me of King Saul when he disobeyed God. He did not take responsibility for his actions, instead he said the people made him do it.

1Sa 15:24  And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

A servant of God must obey God, not be men pleasers. Too many Pastor's try to please people instead of obeying God to preach the whole word of God.

Jesus is our great High Priest who had no sin.

Heb 4:15  For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

We must learn to follow Jesus and not to give in to the ways of the people of the world. We are accountable to the local Pastor of our church, but more important is that we follow God. When Peter was told by the religious leaders to stop preaching the gospel, they responded.

Act 5:29  Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

A local church is to be a place of training. If you are called of God to a ministry, let the local church know about it. Some are blessed and encouraged by the church, but if they are not interested in your vision from God, maybe you need to find a church with your vision?  Obey God above all and if you have sinned, repent of it and keep going.

His Workmanship

All we have comes from God to do his purposes. The anointing and the filling of the Holy Spirit was given to people for various purposes. For building the holy things of God, for speaking his holy words, all by his grace.

Exo 31:1  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Exo 31:2  See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
Exo 31:3  And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
Exo 31:4  To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
Exo 31:5  And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Col 3:22  Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
Col 3:23  And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Col 3:24  Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

2Ti 1:9  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

In the time of Noah, everyone had turned from God, so he had to destroy what was not good. In this end time it is again as the time of Noah, yet there is a people called according to his purposes. We are to be his people doing his calling until he takes us home to glory with Jesus.

Rom 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

High Priest Intercession

Exo 28:29  And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.

As the High Priest for Israel, Aaron wore the twelve precious stones representing the twelve tribes of Israel on his breastplate over his heart when he entered the Holy of Holies. He was to have his heart covered with the welfare of his people. The stones were as a memorial. Now we in the New Covenant may go into the throne room of God because our heart is covered with the blood of Christ, made pure by his righteousness. We have a Great High Priest, Jesus Christ, who prays for us and intercedes for us against the accusations of the devil.

Heb 4:14  Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Heb 4:15  For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

1Pe 5:6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1Pe 5:7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

By the Holy Spirit of God in us, we have direct access to God the Father and God the Son.

Joh 17:14  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Joh 17:15  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Joh 17:16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Joh 17:17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Joh 17:18  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

We have the Spirit of God to come to God for the needs we have and for others, and to bring others to the saving grace of Jesus.

The Mosaic Covenant.

Israel was a people chosen by God to know his word and to obey his holy laws. The sign of the covenant was the keeping of the Sabbath. The covenant with Abraham of a land and a people was still in affect. The sign of the Abrahamic covenant was circumcision. Salvation remained by faith in the promises of God. The law was never meant to save you, but was to show the holiness of God. We should strive to be holy as God is holy. The blood sacrifices did not remove sins, but covered them. The blood was looking forward to the coming of the Messiah whose blood was shed to remove our sins, by faith in him. Jesus kept all the laws and is the perfect son of God, our saviour. This web site explains the covenant with Moses better.

The Fear of God

Exo 20:19  And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
Exo 20:20  And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

God is come to prove you, to test you. It was required that the children of Israel fear God and keep his commandments and laws. They were to be obedient people of faith. Most would prove themselves unfaithful by fearing the men in the promise land more than they feared the LORD. Fearful people God is not pleased with and they will not be in heaven with him. Have we the fear of God? Do we reverence him and respect him? Do we worship and fear him only? Few in the world fear God and most act as if there is no God. The schools teach humans as gods making up lies of evolution to be taught as truth. They remove God's word and prayer. Even our leaders lie without remorse. Woe to a people who do not fear God; judgement is coming.

1Ti 4:1  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2  Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Rev 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Rev 22:15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

The people of God fear him and walk in truth.

Eagles' wings

Exo 19:4  Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
Exo 19:5  Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Exo 19:6  And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

The old covenant was by keeping the laws, the new covenant is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who kept all the laws and took our punishment upon himself to deliver us from hell into the kingdom of God..

Rev 1:5  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Rev 1:6  And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Eaglewings ministries was influenced by this song. Our ministry is to bring the lost and the captives out of bondage as on the wings of an eagle and to disciple them in the New Covenant. Happy tenth birthday of your salvation Susy.

Overcoming Fear

Exo 14:10  And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.
Exo 14:11  And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
Exo 14:12  Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
Exo 14:13  And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
Exo 14:14  The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Exo 14:15  And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

Exo 14:16  But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

The children of Israel saw the Egyptian army approaching them and they cried out, wanting to be slaves in Egypt again. They blamed Moses for their fear. The LORD spoke to Moses, fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD. The LORD shall fight for you, hold your peace. The LORD spoke to Moses, why criest to me? Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward.

Stop crying out, fear not, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, the LORD will fight for you, hold your peace, hear the LORD and  then go forward. This is what we must do when trouble comes. Do not panic and cry and blame others. be still, wait upon the LORD your salvation, hold onto your peace. Hear from God and then go forward. The God who opened up the Red Sea will make a way for you if you are a child of God under his covenant.

There is another powerful promise for you in 1 Corinthians.

1Co 10:13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I have seen many delivered from danger who believed this promise, who waited on the Lord and who received directions and then went forward to safety. Your soul will find peace in any situation; salvation is coming, perhaps a great miracle like the parting of the red sea. Maybe you will by faith see your chains fall from you and walk to safety? Even if death should come, we wake in the presence of our Lord. Do not fear, Children of God. God has given you his salvation in Jesus Christ.

Joseph's Tomb

Exo 13:19  And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

The tradition is that Joseph was buried in the West Bank in Shechum, because that is where his brothers sold him into slavery. His burial place was mentioned in the book of Joshua.

Jos 24:32  And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.

Because the tomb is in Palestinian land access to the tomb is denied or restricted.

On December 22, 2014, Jews who were visiting the tomb to light candles for the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah discovered that the site had been vandalized. Lights were broken and electrical wiring had been cut. It was the first time Jews were allowed to visit the tomb in over a month. (On October 16, 2015, the tomb site was burned by gasoline bombs, but the actual tomb was not damaged.) (Wikipedia)

Palestinians attack Jews and the Jews respond back, so it goes from the beginning, the conflict between the Children of Ishmael and Esau with the covenant people of Israel. It will get worse and worse until Jesus returns. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

The Magicians Fail

Exo 8:16  And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
Exo 8:17  And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
Exo 8:18  And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast.
Exo 8:19  Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

Well, for the first time, the magicians could not  copy the miracles of the ten plagues against Egypt; they were unable to bring forth more lice. Why were the magicians copying the plagues and why if they had any power, were they unable to reverse the plagues? Was it to not to show themselves equal to God?  Well the devil is a copier, but never for good and what he copies is usually a fake, a fraud or illusion. These illusions make excuses for the unbelievers and scoffers of God. This is one plague that they were unable to copy, even saying that it was the finger of God.

Lice or vermin cause itching discomfort. Hitler called the Jewish people vermin, or lice as an excuse to exterminate them all. Because of the filthy living conditions in the concentration camps the Jewish prisoners were infested with lice in their sleeping quarters. This kept the guards out of the barracks. One story of Corrie Ten Boom who survived the holocaust of the Nazis was that they smuggled parts of the Bible into the sleeping quarters and were able to share the Bible because the guards did not want to be where the lice were at.

Lice were a judgement upon Pharaoh and the Egyptians because they would not yet let his people go. It is always best to do as God says and not to put your stubborn will against him. Better to be blessed than to be under his correction or judgement. Learn the word of God, believe him and obey, to avoid the lies of the devil.

Darkness in the land

Exo 10:21  And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
Exo 10:22  And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
Exo 10:23  They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

The LORD brought plagues to Egypt. Each plague was an object that the Egyptians worshipped as a god. Their highest god was "Ra", the sun god.  "Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt." There was darkness over Egypt except in the dwellings of the children of Israel. The darkness was so thick in Egypt that it could be felt.

Have you ever experienced darkness that could be felt? I see this as a feeling of oppression, as an attack from satan. Even a Christian may feel this darkness. A missionary friend felt this spiritual darkness as her passenger jet flew over communist East Germany during the cold war. If you feel the darkness, speak the name of Jesus and the darkness will flee.

When the Children of Israel were given the law of Moses, if they kept all the commandments they would be blessed, but if they turned away from God there were a number of curses that were given; one of the curses was gross darkness. I see this spiritually in America.

Deu 28:29  And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

Part of Hannah's prayer was for the saints and against the wicked.

1Sa 2:9  He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

The LORD is our light

Mic 7:8  Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

Jesus is the light of the world

John 8:12  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

We are to let our light shine

Mat 5:14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

LORD God help us to be your light in a sin darkened world. Open the eyes of the spiritually blind so that they may escape the coming judgement. In Jesus name, amen.

The LORD will deliver

Moses and Aaron met with the Egyptian Pharaoh and asked that the Hebrews be allowed to go into the wilderness and make sacrifices to their God. The Pharaoh responded "Who is this God". The people are idle and lazy wanting to cease work; so they will work harder getting their own straw for the bricks they are required to make. They will make their required number of bricks and they also must get their own straw. This made the people cry out more and to blame Moses and Aaron. Moses was questioning the LORD, because they did what they were told to do, but the king resisted them and the people cried.

Exo 6:1  Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
Exo 6:2  And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:
Exo 6:3  And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
Exo 6:4  And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.
Exo 6:5  And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
Exo 6:6  Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

When we were first saved everything was wonderful and new to us, but when we shared with family and friends, they often did not respond to our words. Soon we were back to work and sometimes it seemed like things were getting worse. This is the trying of our faith. The Hebrews were crying and complaining and even Moses and Aaron had doubts. They were to wait on the LORD and to trust him. Keep going through your problems, but trust the LORD to bring you through. The devil will resist the move of God, but he has no power against the LORD our God.

Isa 60:1  Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isa 60:2  For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Isa 60:3  And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

When troubles come we are to resist the negative words and to do our work while trusting  in our LORD who will deliver us. Trust the LORD to keep his promises and remember darkness gives way to the light.

I AM

The Lord Jesus Christ became a man and he is also God, born of a virgin. He was God the son from the beginning of Creation. He is the Word of God.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He also was seen in the old testament as the Angel of the LORD. Being spirit, He spoke from a flame of fire.

Exo 3:2  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

Fire has no affect on the Angel or the Son of God. He was seen later with three Hebrew young men who were thrown into a raging fiery furnace. His presence kept them from the affects of the fire.

Dan 3:23  And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
Dan 3:24  Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
Dan 3:25  He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Angels sometimes showed themselves as men. When three men came to Abraham and Sarah, the LORD  spoke of a promised son in their old age.

Gen 18:1  And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
Gen 18:2  And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

The LORD went away and two angel went on to remove Lot from Sodom and Gomorrha.

Gen 18:33  And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

Gen 19:1  And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

Moses speaks to the "I AM" in the burning bush.

Exo 3:13  And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
Exo 3:14  And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Exo 3:15  And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

The angel in the burning bush spoke as the LORD, the I AM. Jesus took that title as well. He spoke of existing before Abraham.

Joh 8:56  Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
Joh 8:57  Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
Joh 8:58  Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

God is spirit manifested to us in three persons: God the Father, being our Father we are become the sons of God under his covenant.  Jesus is God the Son; through him we are saved from our sins. His human form accomplished the shedding of blood required to take away our sin guilt. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God that is our comforter, our teacher and our spiritual connecting to God. Being born again in the spirit we are with Jesus in the spirit and we will be with him in glory forever. I am a child of God by the will of the Father, by the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God and his Spirit dwells in me, and forever I am with God. Are you a child of God through faith in Jesus? Say "I am".

The Blessing of Judah

Gen 49:8  Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
Gen 49:9  Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
Gen 49:10  The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
Gen 49:11  Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
Gen 49:12  His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.

Out of the tribe of Judah would come Mary the birth mother of Jesus and Joseph the legal father, but not the blood father. The blood father of Jesus is Almighty God.  All the children of God shall bow before him and all people shall bow before him.

Php 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus is the Lion of Judah.

Rev 5:5  And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Jesus the Messiah  is the Shiloh (He who it is, peace maker). In him shall all people gather, the Remnant of Israel.

The choice vine can be described in John 15.

John 15:1  I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
John 15:2  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

His garments are washed in wine and the blood of grapes. His garments were soaked in his blood, the cleansing blood of the Lamb of God, that takes away our sins.

Mat 26:28  For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

In Revelation Jesus is described.

Rev 1:14  His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

Jesus is savior of those who trust in him and he shall judge the world by his word. The blessings of Judah and the blessing of those with the faith like Abraham come through the Lord Jesus Christ.  He is to be a king from the lineage of David of the tribe of Judah and the only begotten son of God.

Rev 19:15  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

All people bow and worship the King!

Ephraim

Gen 48:17  And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
Gen 48:18  And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
Gen 48:19  And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

Jacob gave the greater blessing to Joseph's younger son Ephraim. Later when Israel was a great nation, it split into Israel, the northern kingdom and Judah in the south. The tribe of Ephraim was the northern most tribe of Israel and it had grown so that the name  Ephraim often was used instead of the name Israel. Israel eventually strayed away worshipping idols and they were taken into captivity. Some of Israel and Ephraim were brought to Babylon and others were spread across the nations. After the prophecy of a 70 year exile was completed,  some of Israel returned to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and the temple. They were allowed to return, all who chose to return, but many enjoyed the cities. Often we hear of the lost tribes of Israel, but they chose to remain in the world. I suppose that Ephraim was given the prophecy by Jacob that he would be a multitude of nations and not just Israel because they chose to remain in the nations of the world. thousands of years in the future when the holocaust came during world war 2, many of the scattered Jews returned to the new nation of Israel. There are still more Jews in the United States then in Israel. There is a family bond with the Jews, but not all know or seek their God. Paul, a jew, a pharisee and then a Christian apostle spoke of the true Jews.

Rom 2:28  For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29  But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

The church did not replace Israel and the Jews. Israel still has been given promises as a nation and a people. These promises will be fulfilled in the last days.

Rom 11:26  And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Rom 11:27  For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Rom 11:28  As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
Rom 11:29  For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Isa 10:20  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
Isa 10:21  The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
Isa 10:22  For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the Jewish people.  Many are bitter because of the holocaust when a "Christian" nation, Germany killed six million Jews and treated them as less than humans. Many hate Christians and do not trust them. The true Christian is a friend to Israel and the Jews. Pray that many will be saved now before many are killed in the coming years. Those who survive will be few.

Dreams

Joel 2:28  And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

As a young man Joseph had dreams. In his innocence he shared them with his family. The dreams had his family bowing to him. His brothers hated him for this and because he was the favorite of his father.

Gen 37:8  And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

Their jealousy eventually led them to throw Joseph in a pit and then to sell him to Midianite traders. He was sold to a wealthy man in Egypt who made him steward of all he owned  He was favored in Egypt until his master's wife accused him wrongfully. Joseph was sent to prison where he met the kings butler and baker who had dreams. Joseph interpreted their dreams. One was killed the butler was let go. Joseph asked the butler to remember him to the king. After two years the Pharaoh king had recurring dreams. Dreams that recur may be from God. The butler spoke to the king of a Hebrew in prison who told him the meaning of his dream. Joseph was called to interpret the kings dreams, because the kings wise men could not do so. They would be killed if they gave the wrong interpretation. Israel the nation would have some who were false prophets and false dream interpreters.

Jer 23:32  Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.

Be careful to not put dreams above God's word.

Amos 8:11  Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Joseph interpreted the king's dreams and warned him of seven years of good harvest followed by seven years of famine. Because of the excellent spirit in Joseph, the king placed him second in command to do what was required to store grain for the coming draught. The famine brought Joseph's family to Egypt in search of grain. They did not recognize Joseph, but in the end Joseph forgave his brothers who all had bowed to him as the leader in charge in Egypt. Joseph was a dreamer of dreams and an interpreter of dreams. Evil people meant him harm but Joseph kept going in the grace and favor of the LORD until he became the savior of those who would have perished from famine. Good triumphed in the end. Keep going for God will bring good to his servants.

Gen 45:7  And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
Gen 45:8  So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Joseph was a type of Jesus who was rejected by his own and yet became their savior. It was the plan of God. Think about Joseph and learn from his life. Receive Jesus as your Lord and savior and your life and the evil in it will not keep you from the goodness of God  towards you forever. We were created to be with God. Jesus forgives our sins to make this possible.

The LORD was with Joseph

The Bible shows the flaws in men, even great men like Jacob and David had their sins. Joseph was a man of God that had no apparent sins. He was the favorite of his father Jacob. His brothers were jealous of him and were going to kill him, but instead sold him into slavery while telling their father that he had been killed by a wild animal. Although away from his family, the LORD was with him. Joseph had an excellent spirit and was favored by God so that wherever he went God turned evil for good in his life.

Gen 39:1  And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.
Gen 39:2  And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
Gen 39:3  And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

God goes with those who are saved by faith in Jesus, no matter what may happen, we are never alone.

Heb 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Heb 13:6  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Edom

After Jacob brought his family and goods from his twenty years serving his uncle Laban, he had another relative to encounter before he could be at peace in his new home in Canaan. Esau his brother had sworn an oath to kill Jacob. For fear of Esau Jacob wrestled all night with a man from the LORD, until he would bless him. This is a type of our diligently seeking the LORD in prayer, until we have a breakthrough and feel a release and blessing from God. Jacob's thigh was out of joint as a reminder of this encounter. He was given a new name, Israel, with the blessings of Abraham and his father Isaac of an abundance of offspring and a promise land in Canaan. His fear of meeting Esau turned out to be a blessed reunion of two brothers. This is what we all want, love between brothers and relatives; this often requires prayer.

Gen 36:8  Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.

When Esau was born he was hairy and red. Edom means red.

Gen 25:30  And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

Esau had little care for anything but his lusts. He gave away his birthright for a bowl of red stew.

Gen 25:30  And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

The descendants of Edom became the enemies of Israel. When Israel was led out of Egypt, they sought permission to pass through Edom and Edom sent out troops against them.

At another point in history when David was fleeing from wicked king Saul, he was seen by Doeg an Edomite who told Saul of the priest offering David old showbread. Doeg then slew all the priests of Israel but one who escaped.

1Sa 22:18  And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.

God loved Esau less than Jacob, because Esau was against Jacob.

Mal 1:1  The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.
Mal 1:2  I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,
Mal 1:3  And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
Mal 1:4  Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.

Any people who hates Israel must contend with the God of Israel. They shall build, but God will throw down. A nation cannot build and grow if they refuse God and make Israel an enemy. LORD help our nation to return to you. It is my prayer that you will continue to bless our nation and guide it bringing new leadership of men who fear you and serve you. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem, Amen.

Leaving your employer

Jacob had worked for his uncle Laban twenty years. Jacob had married his two daughters and his work had blessed Laban who was a difficult man to work for.

Gen 31:6  And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.
Gen 31:7  And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
Gen 31:8  If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked.
Gen 31:9  Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

It was time for Jacob to take his wives and their possessions and to leave Laban to return to the land of Canaan. They had to sneak out to prevent Laban from stopping them. I would imagine that many would agree that working for another person has at times been difficult. Perhaps they had held back your wages, no raises, no benefits, but as a Christian we are to do our best as unto the LORD. From experience it is best to remain where you are until God releases you. It is good to seek God for any changes. I would suggest that you examine your gifts and talents and look to using these. We all were given certain gifts from God to use for his glory. Do not move until you are sure it is time. God will let you know. We must work through our dissatisfaction. It is human nature to grumble and complain. If we do our best God is faithful to prosper us and to meet our needs. Do not have a negative spirit of rebellion and entitlement. Just be glad that your needs are being met. All is working to shape you into a useful servant.

Rom 5:3  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
Rom 5:4  And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
Rom 5:5  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Keep smiling, you are loved.
